BOOOOOOO!!! BOOO ON THIS EDIT. IT IS THE AURAL EQUIVALENT OF COITUS INTERRUPTUS TO FADE THE SONG OUT EARLY LIKE THAT.

*sigh* I just made a crappy all caps post. I guess I'm one of THOSE people.
Everybody in my alien space craft be dancing...  love this song...
they hit it

Everybody in my church loves this song...

No kidding! Where is the full version?! Too "experimental" for RP listeners?

This song is perfect for those lazy Sundays going around the house and sipping coffee... and actually I'm happy it doesn't *take off* at the end or it would just turn into one of those annoying *unz-unz-unz* clubbing pieces

What did your doctor prescribe you? I'd like some of that....

Not that bloody Beth Orton again. {#No}

Hmmm. At least I'm consistent. I heard that voice and I immediately had an urge to throw something at my speakers. Gosh, I find her irritating. Turning off my blameless speakers now.. see you all later....
Good movie...Great soundtrack.
Excuse my ignorance. Who's Beth ORton?
Other than the Tom Cruise photo looking at you this is a good one...

This is a great song, except for that last bit... it goes kind of nuts and noisy at the end... but the first part is so good... I hope you trim that stuff at the end...

you wouldn't be trying to wind people up would you ?

Blecch!
Replace that grating guitar loop with something sane and you have a good song. This is the type of thing they use to torture prisoners.
love this song!

Can't say I love this song.

Riff.  A rift would be two guitars with some kind of personal issue.

Then again, maybe this is a guitar rift...

I love Beth's voice...and the Chems. Yay!!!
I thought my computer got stuck in a loop again. I almost killed Winamp and restarted.  It ended just in time.
The guitar rift is really annoying.
Love the vocal, love the movie.
Can't say I love this song.
More importantly, where do you end? Boring.

her voice is versatile -

** 5 / 6 **

What! Where's the rest? Maybe add "ABRIDGED" to any song you trim so we don't feel tricked.

I differ to beg

Remember diggin' this when I first heard it. Bought it off iTunes. Then . . . heard the insanity in the latter end of the tune, turned me right off. Sorry, just me. Your playing of the tune and the fade before the craziness, probably smart. I was duped! Is there a re-dub without the ending?

I agree, I don't like it when dj's decide to cut away an interesting part of a song...

One of the more bizarre movies I've seen.. a great soundtrack, especially this tune and the one with Sigur Ros.
Wasn't there a sequel to this soundtrack called Chocolate Rain?

Great soundtrack really but I just couldn't commit to purchasing anything with Mr Cruise's big head on the cover.
If you play it reverse you'll hear a secret message from scientology.

Open your EYES
i liked from the beginning.
Thank God you edited the end of this one, Bill. Although I wouldn't have minded a little bit of the drum and bass from the outro.

Especially the wobbly noise in the back.
Imho, one of the few truly divine electronic songs. Give that bass button a mad twist to the right! Edit: what a shame this version is cut off this early. All credit to the Chemical Bros and Beth Orton though.
Tom's mug weirded me out when I clicked to comment, but I love this song! Just, make the bad man go away.
Perfect... I'm sitting groggily in front of my computer, making last minute edits to a lab I have to teach, trying to focus on my coffee cup...a great early morning song. /it helps if you've been in the situation described in the song... //shouldn't have cut it off Bill...but you're forgiven with that sweet transition to DJ Shadow!
Anything from this awesome soundtrack is welcome!

Their new CD is pretty rockin too!
This is a good soundtrack.
Tom Cruise is a full-on freak.
Wow I'm glad I don't know WTF the ending is supposed to sound like. I'm in a vulnerable bandwagon mood and would be bitching like the rest of the mob.
Nooo, can't get into this at all but thought the movie very interesting.
Noooooooooooooooo! I can't believe you cut it before the huge crashing rhythm section kicks in! Oh MAN . . . I love this song - original version 10, this version ONE.

Tasty because of the vanilla? JK! I was hoping Penelope Cruz would make the cover since she was in this movie and the Spanish original, Abre los Ojos.

Vanilla Yay!
Shortening that song is like coitus interuptus. Probabaly one of the best rythmic drum riffs in the last 5 years or so.
Oh man, I had to sign up when this song got truncated, just so's I could bitch about it =). It's been said before, but wanted to chime in: playing this edit is a shame. I can understand why some posters find the song boring if this is all they get to hear. That said: can't please all the people all the time I suppose. Seems some like it this way. With the bitching out of the way: Really enjoying the tunes! Thanks!

Why is the end of this song missing each time? It is the best part! Also...any else notice that Bill seems to talk over the beginning of each soong more and more these days?
I'm going to have to agree with many others here. Removing the ending was a great injustice...
This is a great soundtrack!

agreed. i love the REAL track, but this edit? a 1. not cool.

"Why won't it stop, When will it all end?" Honestly, you can sing those lines instead
Yes! The big end's gone!
Oh listener, you were robbed. Where's the dissonant ending?
Beth Orton + Chemical Brothers = bliss of a rare sort.

The whole song goes into this trippy drum track which is the balance to the first part. I'd rather you remove it from the playlist than play it like this.
Ditto. The original edit is on the "Dig your own hole" album. I could upload it, if I ever think about it when I'm at home where I have this album, and have the time... Rather unlikely

i love this song! great.
I kind of understand why not. Personally I usually fast forward as it gets to into it. That song does get pretty intense. But, I see the other side too. It is meant to build up.

i second that. or third, or hundredth that!

Irritating, pointless, and far too long.
Why not play the whole track? Is it really that bad, especially this late on a friday?
After reading the comments from others, I figured this is better than this little snippet, so I gave a 6, being chritable.
I think my cat sat on their keyboard. This is a pile of techno-suck! Kill it before it spreads!
Annoying to the most degree!

I second this. Playing such a crippled edit is like playing "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and fading out before the first chorus. Grrr.

oh man, i just had to change my 10 to a 2 ... i understand cutting out the grating noises for the last two minutes of the song, i did that on my home computer. but, this song is all about the build to the bass line hitting which i can't believe wasn't there. i feel violated!!! for shame rp ... for shame <-X
this might have been okay, but really suffers from being cut off.
Some of the detractors of this song might benefit from hearing the original Chemical Brothers CD, where this is at the end of the CD and wraps up the story nicely... One of my ex-girlfriends loved this song, esp. the part where the beat kicks in...
Holy Cow! This is awful! The perfectly repetitive background noise has created Excedrin Headache #853. :headache.gif: If the missing second half is anything like the aired first half, thank goodness it's defunct.
One thing you can say for the Chemical Brothers: they sure don't mind pointless repetition. One thing you can say for the Chemical Brothers: they sure don't mind pointless repetition. One thing . . . ETC.
One of my favorite Chemical Brothers songs. It's too bad they don't play the whole thing. The second part is awesome.
I freakin' love this song. :) :nodhead:
:meditate.gif: A pleasant end to a Friday afternoon.
So, when do you finally STOP!
Oh Boy! First time I heard my upload played! Wheee! Gee--I don't know what happened to the rest of it...Hmmm.
This music is freaking me out !! Ah ha, Vanilla Sky Soundrack. That explains the freakiness.
Sounds great and they know when to stop.
Dig it.
I have loved this song since I first heard it about 4 years ago... this is with Beth Orton? Even sweeter! Edit: ACK! what happened to the end of the song?
