If I told you a secret
You won't tell a soul
Will you hold it and
Keep it alive

'Cause it's burning a hole
And I can't get to sleep
And I can't live alone
In this life

So look up, take it away
Don't look da-da-da-down
The mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me, don't leave me
Take me, don't leave me
Baby, love will come through
It's just waiting for you

And you stand at the crossroads
Of highroads and lowroads
And I've got a feeling
It's right

If it's real what I'm feeling
There's no make believing
The sound of the wings
Of the flight

Of a dove, take it away
Don't look da-da-da-down
The mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me, don't leave me
Take me, don't leave me
Baby, love will come through
It's just waiting for you

Oh, look up, take it away
Don't look da-da-da-down

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me, don't leave me
Take me, don't leave me
Baby, love will come through
It's just waiting for you

Love will come through
Love will come through
Love will come through

Travis is always brilliant!  Love this
hahaha - thought he sang "the world is a turd"...I think I like that line better
awesome - so many memories. longboarding down the streets of my teenage years!
surprisingly melodic everything in its place and all appropriate ... I liked
Definitely made me look up from work!  I'm a reasonably regular RP listener - I don't recall hearing much Travis (at least not during USA business hours)- and I'm pretty sure they would have distracted me on a regular basis.

More, please!

Yup, same here. Maybe it's the time I listen to RP, but I can assuredly say that Travis is not "overplayed" on RP in my experience. I think folk reckon a song's "overplayed" if they don't like it, as 'bad songs' tend to grab your attention more than music you like, IMO. This is ok, nowt special, but pleasant enough.

Well said and right on the mark. A big old, "Well done." from me, for whatever it's worth.

Goes to show you. I think this is only the second Travis song I've encountered here, and only three Travis hearings overall. One medium, many listener experiences.

Love his voice — he could recite the phone book and I would enjoy it.

It's a pretty good song, but it's overplayed. In fact, Travis is played a little too often.

This song was in the soundtrack for the movie "Moonlight Mile." I really like it.
Shamelessly pop and I love it.
Travis sings Britney
I like the album art, oh and the song is pretty cool too!

Did not know that. I was just joshing when I wrote the comment. More about the sound overall and Braff's taste in music. Still it doesn't surprise me that he put it in the trailer.

Which came first, the chicken or "Garden State"? :) This really sounds like something that would have fit perfectly into the soundtrack along with the Shins, Coldplay, etc... Which is to say, this is a beautiful song.

Promise?

What you said. Or what you said he said. Both.
I like travis and their stuff. This song is especially good.

Okay. Guess it's left up to me then. Nice tune, especially from a dude named Travis.
Don't you hate that? I keep waiting for dotman's next post, but you can't TELL what will inspire him. Much like Punxsutawney Phil.

Eh... there are better songs on 12 Memories, IMO.

Typical Travis, and a good one at that.
the more I hear this song on RP, the more I like it...
This is probably my least favorite Travis album. Having said that, there are some good songs on it. May have to give it another try.....
