I guess I grew up on an old dirt road
Pedal to the metal always did what I was told
'Till I found out that my brand new clothes
Came second hand from the rich kids next door
When I grew up fast I guess I grew up mean
There's a thousand things inside my head I wish I ain't seen
And now I just wander through a real bad dream
Feelin' like I'm coming apart at the seams

Thank you Jack Daniel's Old Number Seven
Tennessee Whiskey got me drinking in heaven
Angels start to look good to me
They're gonna have to deport me to the fiery deep

Thank you Jack Daniel's Old Number Seven
Tennessee Whiskey got me drinking in heaven
I know I can't stay here too long
'Cause I can't go a week without doin' wrong
Without doin' wrong
Without doin' wrong
Without doin' wrong

(Drinkin' in heaven)

So I'm sitting as the bar stool it starts to grow roots
Feelin' like an old worn out pair of shoes
Tell me what is it that I should do
When I'm swimming in the liquor only half way through
So I'm watching as his wings spread as wide as could be
Come on now and wrap them around me
'Cause all I want to do now is fall to sleep
Come down here and lay next to me

Thank you Jack Daniel's Old Number Seven
Tennessee Whiskey got me drinking in heaven
Up here the bottle never runs dry
And you never wake up with those tears in your eyes

Thank you Jack Daniel's Old Number Seven
Tennessee Whiskey got me drinking in heaven
Angels start to look good to me
They're gonna have to deport me
To the fiery deep (Old Number Seven)
To the fiery deep (Drinkin' in heaven)
To the fiery deep (Old Number Seven)
To the fiery deep (Drinkin' in heaven)

I've been introduced to Mr. Daniels but the Covid pandemic and the policies of a certain president have caused me to cohabitate recently with Jack's cousin Jim Beam.

I'd suggest a liquid lunch.

awesome!
When the co-worker says "Who are these guys?" that's pretty impressive. She does that maybe 1 time a year.

Oh yeah yes indeed, t'was a time there when a tall pint of Guinness chased with a shot of JD....all night long....was my favorite way to chase done the night.  Life was an adventure don't'cha know, and I was having meself a ball.  But it was about the time when that ratio began to tilt heavily to JD that my liver up and said:

"Whoa there boy!"  You keep this up you and I are gonna have a parting of the ways."

So I stopped.  Doesn't mean tunes like this don't bring that old taste to mind.  Them's were the days yes indeed.  To the extent I remember them that is.  Something along the lines of after hours bars and women gone bad.  No offense meant to the women among us here.  From your point of view it'd be...men gone bad?  Which means at that time I was.....?  {#Taped-shut}  Gawd almight how did I ever survive those days?  I guess through blind luck and circumstance.  Ever feel like that upon reflection?

I'll throw in my 2 cents for Guinness & Jamesons. Have to stick with the Irish on this one. Fortunately I've never had that conversation with my liver. Cheers!
Saw these guys in a tiny theater in Shepherdstown, WV a couple years ago.  Twas a fun evening.
Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean

Yessiree. Scotch and a good Pilsner for me.
Love the tune. Love the band - Shades is a favorite and Bill should play that one.

Check out Graveyard by these guys. It's a great song for Autumn/Halloween.
Never heard this but I like it! {#Devil_pimp}
Jack is one of my best friends.
If I wanted to listen to something that sounded like it was written in 1945 I'd just listen to something that was written in 1945. These throw-back imitation bands are laaaaaaaaame.
Meh. Dumb.
best Cruzers in years....{#Fire}...{#Cheers}   ( and we have greats )
This band is a blast live and this song really gets the crowd going. I had the pleasure of seeing them live last Halloween at the Orpheum in Flagstaff with about 800 people, all in costume.
Boring, Contrived, Lyrically Vacant
For obvious reasons this has to get a 7 rating, its current average.

Right on Bill! I'm so glad to hear you play a band like Devil Makes Three. This trio is a fairly local band from Santa Cruz/Bay Area (altho originally they hail from Vermont). I've recently discovered them live in SF and they are fantastic! Great song writing, great musically. They do tour outside of Northern California, altho right now, I think they're on a touring break. Check them out, buy their CDs. They're great https://thedevilmakesthree.com/

I love this song, been listening to it on RP for monthes, finally bought it on iTunes for a mix i was making for a friend...anyway had it playing on my ipod at a party on Friday night and my friend Maryann was like no way! She went to highschool with the band, they are some of her best friends and they're all from my town, maryann and i had dated back in high school and were in a car accident with lucia...anyway happened that she had the cd with her...small world...
Wait...what? You were in a car accident with Lucia while you were dating Maryann in high school, and you had the CD with you? And that caused the accident? Who's Lucia? Did she have the CD with her, or did Maryann? And if Maryann went to high school with the band, and you dated Maryann back in high school, didn't you also go to high school with the band? So how did you not know them if you were dating their best friend and going to the same high school and were in a car accident with Lucia? Were they all sleeping with Maryann, and is that why you broke up? Or did you break up because you were in the car accident? Who's Lucia? And why was Maryann like no way? Was she really like no way, or was she maybe like, some way? Or just way? Which way? Was Lucia going the other way, or was she going the same way when you had the accident? And who's Lucia?
Fun song!
