I heard you were here then you disappeared last night
When they killed the lights
Words we didn't say
Your eyes that took us down two more
And we were ready for
You came up behind me, grabbed my wrists in the dark
And said 'don't look at what you can't see'

Now all night
All night
I've been looking for you all night
All night
All night
I've been looking for you all night

Doesn't matter what I tell myself
The flame is small
But it burns it all
Sleepless questions and some sly suggestions
I could fly if I could only fall
I've been wanting to touch you since we met
You don't give a girl a chance to forget

And all night
All night
I've been looking for you all night
All night
All night
I've been looking for you all night

No straight lines
When love rewinds
Out in the night
Well you took the light
You're all around but I haven't found you
You're coming in
Right through my skin
Oh comrade, what do you need?
Where will all this trouble lead?

All night
All night
I've been looking for you all night
All night
All night
I've been looking for you all night
All night
All night
I've been looking for you all night
All night
All night
I've been looking for you all night

Wish she would find him and he tells her to shut up.

Totally - a few more Kools and she'll be giving Tom a real run for his money!
Dunno... She sounds like a drunk female stalker with a one man band tagging along.
Tedious beyond belief.
How many times is she gonna say all night?

Does anyone know if she's still married to T-Bone Burnett?

Is he related to Carol Burnett?
Hmm...this is the flattest distribution of ratings that I've seen for a song on RP.
I love this song , thought it was rosie Thomas, explains why i couldnt find it .
Sooooo boring

I checked out Wikipedia and IMDB, and they say they're still a couple.

A little repetitious in the lyrics for me. How long has she been waiting for him? All night? Are you sure?

Ok this one is starting to grate. i liked it initially, but less each time I hear it.
I can relate, not her best.
This is OK, butb her '94 LP Martinis & Bikinis is great.

You're not going to believe this, but I'm pretty sure the percussion/baseline is lifted right out of an old Bert Kaempfert instrumental from the 60s...
Reminds me of a story about The James Last Orchestra.. Q. What's the difference between a reindeer & the James Last orchestra? A. A reindeer's got the horns at the front and the asshole at the back...

Perhaps the most annoying song played on RP. I turn down the volume whenever it comes on. I beg you, please do not play it anymore.

99 cents at a time... ;-) Steve McCroskey: Johnny, what can you make out of this? Johnny: This? Why, I can make a hat or a brooch or a pterodactyl...

It's round and reflective with lots of microscopic grooves and a hole in the middle. Oh, and the music on it's encoded in pits of 1's and 0's...and sounds really, really good. Like this song. (sorry, I just re-watched Airplane for the millionth time...)

He's the one with the mad hits, right? Sorry.
I think the song title is how long it feels when you're listening to it. Interminable.
I saw her in Dallas last year and she was fantastic. I can't wait to see her again, allegedly later this year.

My favorite Live Sam Phillips song. The drummer is just fantastic!!!

I bought it and I like it. If you like Sam, you will probably like the album. However if it makes you insert emoticons with hammers, you shouldn't buy it. I think she's a genius. There are a couple of arrangements that feature the same instrumentation as this song, but there is a great variety of wonderful material on it. I'd say the album is 4 out of 5 stars. Also, if you like her, buy Martinis and Bikinis--about 10 years old by now, but still a good addition to any collection.

The production is inspired. Percussion is terrific and makes the song. Fresh!
no thank you.
Good to hear something new from Sam. Great percussion.
