This is not a Tim Rose song. It was written by Bonnie Dobson. Tim Rose cut the wax and performed it while never crediting Bonnie for this. From that point forward it has been incorrectly recognized by some as that of Tim Rose. It is an unbelievably profound set of lyrics that are to be rivaled by very few from the late 50's and early 60's. Forget the music of various musicians and bands that have covered it. Absorb her lyrics ... unbelievable!

Yep... Robert Plant recorded it on his last (proper) album. He used to perform it back with Bonham pre-zeppelin (I guess with the Tennessee Teens). The version Plant recorded is just brilliant. He's got such great awareness of his voice and a song like this is perfect for him to display that talent... I digress... The Trees version is decent. Not as good as the others... but decent nonetheless.

I gotta side with you there, Snowy. Give me Quicksilver's version any day. (Haven't heard that in years-maybe it wasn't even Quicksilver...I'm gettn' old...)
Okay...uh, sir? Yeah, you need to spit the phlegm out BEFORE you sing, thanks.
Actually, it was written by Bonnie Dobson. Details available here: (click here)
This is the third version of this song I've heard on RP. Yeah--I think I like the other two much better. This sounds mushy to me.

Ahhh! Tim Hardin is the author... so I get to learn something new from RP, as well as enjoy the eclectic offerings... Alright!

What a surprise to hear this song... I was just yesterday wondering how to find the original Dead version... hey, this will suffice for the moment! Not a bad job of it either!
