About a year and a half ago I had this song stuck in my head for a week. I couldn't remember the words well enough to google it, so it's been SERIOUSLY bothering me for the last 18 months. Oh, the irony that the song is called "Hard to Find". Wow.

Thank you Bill and Rebecca for putting on good music that I would otherwise never hear. This song qualifies - I have never heard of this band before, and I like this! I am forever recommending this site to friends precisely because you have such a great blend of old and new, favorites and rarities that I am rarely if ever bored.

Americanisms, ie Mr Webster deciding he is qualified enough to take an established form of communication and change it.... vexes me.    I can't complain, as a Brit, we have to know aloominum from Aluminium, and Fall from Autumn because there is only 70 million on our little island, and 350million in the US, we are out numbered. (other english speaking countries can decide for themselves.) I can do inches and Lbs and gallons, along with Litres and millimeters  but cmon, why change the date around, that's just daft.?   It's spelt Analogue.....

Apparently, a lot of people do not agree with that, or just don't get it; sometimes a groove is a song.  This song is the way it is by design - the groove is the whole point.  I'm not sure why people expect every song to have the exact same components.

Not sure who came first, the American Analog Set or Pinback, but I do like this kind of sound. I've heard similar bands referred to as math rock. Definitely appeals to the nerd in me.

I saw Broken Social Scene play this weekend, with the guy from American Analog Set as part of the band. They played this tune and jammed out for a while on it. It was a really cool show. Not incredibly tight at times, but they weren't afraid to try new things. I'd see them again.

A good DJ doesn't need a database. They feel it and know it in their soul. They get the flow and just start grabbing the records (or files, as the case may be). It's an art. If you could use a database, I think it would have no soul and be boring. Heart is the magic ingredient. And this is an awesome set he's got going. I am feeling it an a most serious way.
