Aren't you the asshole? There's nothing ugly about the band at all, not their looks and especially not their hearts. I've seen them 3 times. Some of the best shows I've seen in my 56 years. Frank Orrall is a damn good soul. After one show he came out and sat on the edge of stage just to chat with people. How many times have you seen that? I'll tell ya - zero.

Poi Dogs is an Hawaiian term for stray dogs. PDP started in Hawaii.

I'm not sure the music is quite as ugly as the band on the album cover but it does strike me these guys are like crowded house if you took all the talent away.

This album is ancient. Check out their newer stuff. A homeboy favorite in Chitown, they are extremely fun and entertaining.

I used to go see Poi Dog and Malford (in Stick People) at Fitzgerald's in Houston. Fitz's was originally a dance hall built by German farmers in the 20's (?). Hot, sweat-soaked, wonderful shows. Frank and Co. lit the place up. Malford's version of 'Livin' for the City' could make you cry. c.

Check out the rest of their stuff, after this album they went a bit more electronic and less organic, but still good. Of the more recent stuff "In Seed Comes Fruit" is a really beautiful album.

Great band - had a chance to see them in Austin before they moved to Chicago - I'm lucky they play all the time in Chicago - all of there music is good wisemoon wrote:
