There's too much
That I keep
To myself
And I turn my back on my faith
It's like glass
When we break
I wish no one in my place

And I've seen
You don't need their scenes
When the cut
Goes in deep
And I'm lost in sleep

I can't stay
In this place
I can't stand
When the room turns 'round
On my fate
You give no guarantees
There's no promise
I can keep

I can't stand
I can't see my way
I feel blind
On my feet
I can't stay too long
Am I wrong?

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck
Goodbye, lay the blame on luck
Goodbye, lay the blame on luck
Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

I'm so tired
Of my mood
And sleep comes
With a knife, fork and a spoon
You're so pale
In your face
You let life
Get in your way

And I've seen
You don't need their scenes
When the cut goes in deep
And I'm lost in sleep
Am I wrong?

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck
Goodbye, lay the blame on luck
Goodbye, lay the blame on luck
Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Same thing here: Always considered "Am I Wrong" such a good song. Other RP listeners see this song "in my cart" and wonder why I like it.

What a drab world it would be if we all liked the same stuff.

Not to mention the stores would always be sold out of Twinkies...

Excellent post. However, I'd put that packet of 'personal wipes' back on the shelf if I were you.

Not necessarily: 8.
Have a soft spot for this song.

The Psychedelic Furs and REM get together under a pseudo name and decide to do a cover of Ruby Tuesday.

I don't hate it like "Heartbreak Beat".  Indistinguishable from late-80s Furs that I didn't like.
After reading through the comments, I'm glad to see that my thought that it sounded like the lead singer of Psychedelic Furs was correct.

Wow, this so reminds me of my teenage years... Love it.

I always thought that line was, "When the room turns 'round on my face."  Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks, thanks, and thanks!

1) For attempting to upload their cover of "How Soon Is Now?".
2) For uploading this one.
3) For adding some Bob Mould. I agree...I'm surprised there isn't more of his stuff, either solo or with Sugar, on here.

I have tried to no avail.{#Sad}
Sounds like post 1991 sucky REM.
Love this song

Love this Psych. Furs side project from way back. Thanks for adding it Bill.

Once in a blue moon, I'm in total agreement with chyk.

first time hearing this ~ LOVED it from the first note ~ didn't know why

as I listened I knew ~ this sounds very familiar ~ AH sounds like someone ~ DUH!

never mind the haters ~ play it more ~ maybe some of the other tracks ~ and play more PF!

Hmm...I have this song at home, on a soundtrack I think, but the horns are a lot more noticeable than on this version. I wonder if there really are two versions, or if I'm just not hearing the marching band in the background on this one for some other reason.

I think the version on the Angus soundtrack has more prominent marching band.

Was used fantastically in the movie Angus.

Got to see them at a small venue, Richard Butler with some very accomplished musicians... it was really good.
This song sucks
As much as I love the Furs, this one's got much more reason to be here, since it's a little more calm than most of the Furs' stuff. Only a 6 for me, but I'm the guy that would give "All of This and Nothing" a 10. {#Roflol}

Normally i'm allergic to cheese but this ones an exception

REM? Similar? Or is it just me.

just...awful.

I love that guys kinda crackly voice.  mmmmmmmmm.
REM is still my favorite mopey, self pitying, EMO band.

My upload of their cover of the Smiths' How Soon Is Now got rejected soon after I uploaded it, but I'm glad at least this got added! Now I'm off to upload some Bob Mould, someone who is notoriously missing from RP.

Very Nightswimming. You've gotta be in a mood, though - forelorn, heartbroken, reminiscent, nostalgic. Sounds like a lot of RP listeners to me
Very good song! I forgot about that one.
9.
Nothing wrong with this song. I like it.
This sucks
Great song. Amazing career.
Well, there goes breakfast all over my computer keyboard!
"Nightswimming"...REM? Similar? Or is it just me. Nice tune though...new to me. Laurie
either there is a Matt Nathanson song that sounds very similar to this or he covered it?

It's a great song and deserved to be uploaded right away! Loved the Furs and feel the same about LSL. Incredibly, I saw them (as LSL) at a tiny local club here in Kentucky! Thanks for the upload. How about the codeine cut?
Interesting. The version of this song I have (on the "Angus" Soundtrack) is a little different. More background horns, I think. I seriously dig the song either way.
I loved this song when it came out...what a delightful surprise to hear it resurface here!
Nice to hear Butler again but this one falls a little short.
Yay! Another song that I uploaded is on the playlist. As of a few hours ago it was still in "reviewing" status...
