How about some Dan Wilson from his album last year? Free Life would be a good choice. He does not get much play time. He wrote a lot of the music for the Dixie Chicks last album and then released his own album. So there is life after Semisonic

Semisonic had like one radio hit does not make them too "mainstream" for Radio Paradise, so get off your indie high horse. I like them. But wow, I never realized how dirty that album cover is. And I can't believe people are on here mocking Borat AND Freddie Mercury. Shameful! :)

I read that book and really enjoyed it. The writer was the drummer for Semisonic. He does a good job capturing the modern realities of trying to "make it" in the music industry and what it can do to your perspective, your sanity, your soul... I am not, however, a fan at all of this band or their sound...

Saw a review of a book, "So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star" which has just come out - written by a member of this group. Its sort of an "expose" of the recording/radio industry - really goes into detail of all the things that have to be done to get played/noticed in the business. Not a glowing account, by any means. Review was pretty favorable, as I recall.
