Lyrics:

Another starry night is above us
For the last ten million years it's been the same
In a moment's notice
Not a stone unturned that someone didn't claim
Who am I to know this, who am I to care

All the streets are sinking
Cause the world goes half the speed of what it takes
And the wires from somewhere
Sending signals to our homes from outer space
Who am I to know this, who am I to care

From the warmth of being fine
To defending battle lines

In a car on the freeway
Broken down from some new form of gasoline
In the door she's waiting
Living up to every diamond in that ring
Who am I to love you, who am I to care
Who am I to know this, who am I to care

Another starry night is above us

Another starry night is above us
For the last ten million years it's been the same
But in a moment's notice
Not a stone unturned that someone didn't claim

Who am I to love you, who am I to care
Who am I to know this, who am I to breathe

From the warmth of being fine, to defending battle lines
I like it better now that I heard the ending, because I never knew it was live. It has it's moments, conveys a feeling... s'alright.

Almost sounds like the Vigilantes of Love (never heard them here -- though I think they'd fit in rather well). I like it so far ....

Agreed. I almost mistook this to be Adam's slightly whiney voice. Most people are critical of "whiney" singers, but I like a little whine every now and then.

Yikes. Perhaps he should try singing within the limits of his vocal range. :?
Does this mean you dislike a lot of the mainstream Motown music produced in the early '70s?

Wrong. It's weak. (Although, aren't opinions never wrong?... )

Sounded like Sting to me, so I was going to give it a low rating. I'll go up one notch instead!
I like almost every song of the Samples, I've heard, except for some of their slightly "sothern sounding ones", like the little silver ring intro.

WOW...so happy to hear this song on RP. I must say the version from Autopilot is 100 times better than this one though. More Samples please!!
Classic Samples, lovely slightly naive viewpoint. Always love to hear The Samples.
I like 'em, and this is one of their better songs...
Though I don't know much about this band, I've heard them at points over the past 10 years. I've never really gone for them; I think their light sound and high-pitched lead singer limit their ability to make it big. That said, I think they are making steady ground towards perfecting their oeuvre. More power to 'em.
