He's the middle man
Stole my heart
But he was the master

Oh no no
Now knee deep in yearning
The bastard kept me waiting
Around like a dumb dumb
I see you, what
But I won't learn
I see you

He's a little thief
Stole my heart
But he was faster
Than I've ever known
Now I'm like a zombie
Go where he goes
He could bounce me like a yo-yo
Around like a boomerang
He didn't think of that one
Look, here he comes around
I'd better run

[Chorus]
Jellyman jellyman
You know you're messin' with a jezebel
I won't bounce you like a yo-yo
Jellyman jellyman
you know you're messin' with a jezebel
I won't bounce you like a yo-yo around an around

He was some petty thief, caught my eye
An I'm in a fix now
oh no he won't see me, I'm no one
Just another one to make goo goo eyes like a dumb dumb
Not a string along, no
I'm the only one
He'll come around

I don't want no jellyman jammin' up my can can
I'm with my mister, ah yes I am
Now he has to follow, go where I go
I can bounce him like a yo-yo
Around like a boomerang
He didn't think of that one, no
When he came around, I didn't run

[Chorus]

I see you on
I see you on
I see you on

I see you jellyman jellyman
See you
See you jellyman jellyman
See you
See you jellyman jellyman

[Chorus]

Something like that...I was thinking Sixpence None the Richer...
The old man inside me wants to grumble and shake his fist, but the teenager in me is rockin' out!  Real me is tapping his foot and enjoying; possibly rocking out on future listens.

This girl should be singing some Bollywood...
I love Cathy Davey's voice, "Cold Man's Nightmare" from "Somethign Ilk" is a fave too, shame the rest of that album didn't quite live up to it.
I find the singer's voice rather annoying, and lyrics like "dumb dumb" seem...juvenile.  If those things were changed, the song could be great IMO.

Jellyman, jellyman, walk like an ee-gip-she-an...

Roger that.

I think it must be Cathy Davey.
She is one of three listed female vocals on the bands homepage.
Somewhere she was listed as composer, but i cant find that page again.

I can't place the voice.  Anyone??
Interesting guitar work there
The Bangles None the Richer.

But very nice.

There you go, I fixed your typo.

Strangely, annoyingly...interesting

 It's so great to get exposed to all this new, previously unknown music through RP....but through RP I have also gotten to know how many Bjork-soundalikes there are out there. Man!! It's too much!! And while Bjork is the original (as far as I know, right?) and therefore more tolerable, all these soundalikes sound like they're 10 years old which is kinda annoying.
i liken "bjork" as the emperors new clothes. there is nothing there, yet i still feel strangely attracted to her. i mean that in a good way, BTW
I've always enjoyed the song, but when I first it I thought that I'd eventually get tired of it. Never have though, still an 8 for me.
Yeah!
The more I hear from this album and this artist, the more I like.
Cool.
Me like this verr nice!!
Marginal...

It sure it. Have no earthly idea what the heck she's saying (except that it appears to be about a "jellyman"), but that doesn't seem to matter much.

I had a friend in the UK buy it for me. Complete waste of time and money. This is the only decent cut on the CD. And, by the way, "jelly" to the Brits is Jell-O to us Yanks.
Wrong, this CD is great. And there are even better songs on it, like "out of this" or "postscript"!

A catchy tune that rises above generic. Feel-good and warmly energetic. This is the kind of music I'd put on a playlist with the intent to motivate me to do things. Any things.
I've heard this song a few times now, and it has the power to make me bob my head and think cool thoughts.

Not sure quite how that's supposed to help this sound any better, but okay.

Fun Tune, good to listen to when coding... :bananajam: :bananajumprope: :bananasplit: :dancingbanana_2:

Girl, your screwed! Fun song.
'i see you; walk but i won't run; i see you' totally. what a fun game this is. :)
Not so much.

I couldn't disagree more - from start to finish I love the entire cd - if you like the three tracks RP play then chances are you'll like the album. For me it's one of the best cds in the last few years. By the way they will be available on itunes from Jan 2006 too. You can hear samples on their site www.autamatamusic.com if you're not sure.

Thanks for the tip. Whenever you can only get it as an import, they usually charge the max for it too...

You can't get this through Amazon. I bet they would sell more records if they found a distributor or something. If people can't find the CD, they can't buy it. D'oh!

Cute, catchy tune. But Jellyman better be careful not to run into Soundgarden's Spoonman.

Nice groove! How come I've never heard this before?!? :ask: (Must of been keeping the volume too low...) The lead singer IS cute! :nodhead: But what is her name?!? :stupid:
There are no actual credits listed on my version of this excellent album, but the vocalists are Carol Keogh (former Plague Monkey, now with The Tycho Brahe) who sings on the classic "Out of This" and a few others, and Cathy Davy who pulls lead vocals on Jellyman. Davy (unfortunately) is not touring with Autamata. Btw, there is a way cool live version of Jellyman on the Autamata website - check it out!

OH, Bi-freakin'-zarre! Bill just went to ET. And NOT the Alien. Jaw agape.......
Ooh, she sounds like Emilliana Torrinni(?) Just like Mhomar Khedafi(?) and TV's Tori family Infinite spellings...
Kind of fun! :bounce:

A well crafted little tune. Lots of neat little intricacies.
Fun
"Mmmmmmmmmm.................Jelly!..........Aurghhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
I still very much like this and the other Autamata cuts.

Is it time to start the "Does Bjork donate $$$$ to RadioParadise" forum?

Yeah, I hear that too, though I first thought of Sixpence None the Richer. Definitely sounds cute.

The vocals remind anyone else of Fleming & John "Delusions of Grandeur"?
So did Jeff Foxworthy really do a cover of this? Or is this a cover of one of Jeff's songs? (I can usually figure out why the Amazon CD lookup went astray, but this one is just plain weird.)
Why should listening to this create in us a desire to buy Jeff Foxworthy cd's?

I usually hate songs in this catagory but this one has a good hook. Not bad.
She sounds so cute I want to kiss her :heartkiss:

This song is growing on me. *thumbs up*
Fun rhythms in this song.
Just love this funky poppy punky tune. From an absolutely fantastic album 'My Sanctuary'. The album's strenght is that every song is so different using different vocalists and genres of music - all of them outstanding (especially the song 'Out of this' my personal favourite). The album can now be bought on www.amazon.co.uk You can find out more about the group and hear samples of the other songs on www.autamatamusic.com Enjoy!
Cute, twisted, really nice bass work- more please. :)
