No.  And the drunk bastard on guitar doesn't help much. . .

" The Drunk bastard on guitar " Died a few years back from Cancer and was a very talented guitarist. You Mr Vandal are not qualified to make such comments !
By crikey, you lot are harsh in your criticism. It may not be any one's favorite but it certainly is NOT substandard.
I'd give an arm and a leg to have this kind of artistic expression.

I don't have anything to prove it, but, man, that guitar sounds like Chris Whitley.

At least I'm consistent. Had no idea this was him. I hate his playing here, and hate his own album, too.
Arrrgggghhhhh. This is painful. Make it end.
Caught my ear, 'cause I thought so too!

Way to wreck a melody.

cool song
Nice slide guitar, but I'll take the original singer every day of the week over Wilson's excessive jazzification and slurring. I'm sure she's a good singer, but IMO she doesn't do right well on this cover. 4 from the Nottingham jury.

Superb guitar! And a nice vocal too.
Shades of Nina Simone.
I love the original of this song, but Ms. Wilson lends a certain soul to it - I love that wailing guitar. There's an intimacy to this that gives the old classic a new dimension.  Not rating it yet, but I'm betting I'll eventually give it at least 8.  This is some juicy stuff.
Cool, love Missy Elliot's version too!
