Why no lyrics?
I still like it!!
Hmmm, it appears I've been tracked down by some of the political folks from other places....ah well....I'll keep thinking what I think....
Sounds like a cross between Creed & The Backstreet Boys -2- (and I'm being generous here)

I gave it a 4. Its still ambient trash. Did you even hear the lyrics?
Nope, looked him up, he's a Christian artist, I'm decidedly not....

i've got a house down by the ocean
the rent is not too high
and i love to watch the ships come in
and hear the seagulls cry
and lately i've been taking stock
of all that i've been through
oh tomorrow is my birthday
feels funny but it's true
i'm turning thirty

now i've got a wife who really loves me
she makes my life so sweet
and a little baby daughter
who plays games around my feet
and my world is very different
from lost lazy bachelor years
but if i had the chance to go back
i'd rather stay right here
turning thirty

and i have friends who care about me
they're the best i've ever had
and they always stood behind me
whenever times got bad
and i love to play my music
though the road can be at trial
but every time i walk on stage
it's worth each dusty mile
turning thirty

well, now thirty ain't like fifteen
and it's not like twenty-five
my back's a little stiff
and there're some lines around my eyes
but i've still got my energy
and i've got most of my hair
and i'm not too old to rock 'n roll
and i'm not really scared
of turning thirty
i wrote this song eight years ago
my, how time flies and so do i

oh, the nineties look like tough times
the world is turning sour
so i'll keep on serving jesus
and await the final hour
and though i've often failed him
in these thirty rocky years
his mercy brought me this far
and his love has dried my years
i'm turning thirty
i'll treasure these years
i'm turning thirty
i'll treasure these years turning thirty

BTW, it's about corporations, their dominance over and infiltration of our lives.....couldn't be further from religious.

Def not religious...

This sounds like oh-so-earnest North American campus dross, reaching out to something earthy and rootsy but ending up sounding like suburban middle-class College-days angst. Sorry not my cup of tea.

What's all this got to do with this post? The Stills are yet another band that I have never heard of, would never hear of in Syracuse NY land dominated by radio stations that suck and university radio stations that have no originality! It all comes down to music and exposure folks. If you know this site well, it is an informational giant for finding and buying music. It also plays a great deal of the classics that we all love from our earlier lives. I love RP and what it has done for me.

Thought this worth bumping.  Nicely stated.

Beautiful segue from Annakin.  GREAT set.  Thanks, BillG!

*edit* VERY NICE, STILL!!!  Good dynamics!

Huh?

The only objection I have to this song is that the vocalist sounds too much like Tracy Chapman for my taste. (Even just being reminded of TC is enough of an annoyance!)

That's an interesting comparison, I had never thought about that....but I will admit to loving that song you mention, and Fleetwood Mac in general, I would say it's for sure true that Buckingham's guitar style affected me for sure....as an aside, I have an original copy of the Buckinham/Nicks debut....which I'll admit I bought at the time because of the picture on the cover, but then I loved it too, BONUS!

I should note that "STILL" (me) and "The Stills" are different entities. Though we have spoken and are friendly, I'm just me, and they are on Vibe I think... But I agree with everything you said about RP, and I support them and others like them, as well as appreciate THEIR support to me, it's not an easy time to be in music, while it's also a great time! Religious? Sorry you think it's crap, but hopefully it's because you think it's religious somehow...which isn't the least bit on my mind in that song....listen again sometime, it's got a lot more to do with corporations than religions... Interesting take on it tho...gonna try and figure that one out...

This song is beautiful... ">
not that that is a bad thing :)
Lindsey Buckingham much ?
Man, AWESOME all the kind comments....I really appreciate it! I've been playing around out of country and other places with a more well known artist trying to subsidise my habit of making CD's on my own...and I haven't checked in for a bit, it really made my day to come by, thanx!! Coupla quick things...I just about had a heart attack when I read the bit about Amazon, when I checked Amazon sells them for 15.99, but every reseller of used ones sells them for like $30.00 or higher!?!? Dunno how that works but it's pretty odd....here's a search number to try on Amazon if you use them - B00008OTM5 - and of course I have the CD from me here. I've been thinking about an idea - I haven't talked to Bill about this (haven't talked to him for a while actually, very happily they have really taken off and he's a busy guy) - anyways - I'm gonna make an offer to those who go so far as to get here and see it....normally the CD is $12, but for RP listeners who come to my site to buy it (it's the only way I could make this work) I'll give it to you for $10, BUT I will also send $2 of that to radioparadise.com. Not because I'm trying to pull something, but because they have been really cool to me and I've been thinking about how to give something back to them as well as support the format. If there's a problem with this somehow let me know, but I hope this will work out for them as well...so if you order it from me directly, make sure you put in a note or in the comments if you use PayPal that you're doing the Radioparadise deal, that way I'll know you read this, since it's the only place I'm putting this out there. AWESOME - made my day you guys!!
