I really miss Malicorne, Gabriel Yacoub's folk band of the late 1970s played here!

For an instance... or this one!
Cool Peter Gabriel vibes....

GREAAAT! I do like this kind of humor!!! Just this: Gabriel Yacoub is not as "unknown" as some listener wrote... This lebanese-french artist was the creator and the leader of "Malicorne", a band which has had its moments of glory... in France :) (sorry for my bad english!)
Don't apologise for your english, at least you know another language and you can't say that about 99% of Americans, hell your english is probably better than 50% of US citizens.
Don't care for this much
Gave it a 7. Interesting piece of music.
Now I understand why I prefer english-speaking music. Even if the lyrics are awful, I can still enjoy the music. What's coming-up next, Ange, or Francis Lalanne?
lol dude if you were understanding french you wouldn't hear this song no more... make it stop please!!
Nice to have something other than english-speaking artists. I feel mush more exposed to things I wouldn't normally hear. Thanks Bill !
i was enjoying the set until now :( Gabriel Yacoub - Bon an, Mal An Yann Tiersen - La Boulange Gillian Welch - Tear My Stillhouse Down Ben Harper - Homeless Child
Great feel good song!
goodyear vs. michelin? or was it bridgestone? i'm tired of it...

I beg to differ. Just because it's about love doesn't make it naive (click here) Somebody said Peter Gabriel's evil twin, I say Leonard Cohen.
I agree that the lyrics don't seem naive, at least to me. I'd go further than saying that this song is about love though. Seems like it's really about Life. And yes, I hear the Cohen similarity.
tangerine dreamy.
Maybe this is what people are listening to in their cars as they flash down that "Road to Rouen" highway. Thanks Bill.

get this crap off Bill!
I'll second that. This sucks.
man, i almost forgot. one of the most important things my grandpa ever told me... don't ever trust a frenchee.
And again. When I hear that rythmic start, I think..Ahhhh Terry Reilly, Rainbow in Curved Air. But then, disappointment. Although I still give this track a 6. Mainly because it reminded me of a favorite LP from x years ago.
They sure throw you a curve ball every now and then, don't they?
A French Gino Vanelli? Blech......
get this crap off Bill!
Anybody remember Terry Reilly ? The intro is a direct steal.
Never eard of him in France !!!!

I'm SO glad the WMP has a mute button, perfect for this song.

I'm really diggin' this. Can somebody point out which of his discs would make a good introduction? Is this song typical, or is his usual sound different from this?

You really rallied the neurons for that one. Good to see creativity isn't dead on the old Comments Board. If you're going to be crass, at least be a tiny bit clever.

This is wonderful.
Is this Peter Gabriel's evil French twin?

Totally unknown in France !!!
And that's a pity. Youssou N'Dour is more known, and there might be only one famous singer in that style for the moment.
I really like this and agree with a comment below: more international, songs of foreign language, please!
"Mmmmmmm.........Bone and Mellon.........Aurghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Hearing Gabriel Yacoub points to why Radio Paradise is such an amazing station. I have been listening to Gabriel for nearly 20 years now, and this is the first time I have ever heard him on radio, online or broadcast! Gabriel is an amazing writer and performer. He used to lead Malicorne, the seminal French Folk-Rock group that began in the early 70's. For the past 20+ years, he has produced a series of wonderful solo albums. Some of them (like ELF from which this track comes) were experimental in nature, but he's mostly known for his brilliant voice and guitar folk songs. Yay!!! Thanks noladq for uploading, Thanks B&R for adding it.
Well, I played it in Radio Dreyeckland, an alternative independent radio station in Germany in the folk section ;-). But cant imagine that anyone noticed it :-)

Too naive? Hmmm. Ever read Pablo Neruda? ee cummings? Some of the most complex and beautiful thoughts are best expressed simply: I like this.
Yes. More international music please. (its the only international emoticon i could find)
Wonderful way to start the day!!
Totally unknown in France !!! Good orchestration, but lyrics are too naive
Great!!!
