My face to the sky
Dreaming about just how high
I could go... and if I know
When I finally get there
Taking off my glasses

Sun pokes through my lashes
And somehow I know
There's a time for every star to shine....

Everybody got their something
Make you smile like an itty bitty child
Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something

Hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey hey

People keeping score
So ya better hurry up and get yours
Cause somebody else
Got your spot
Before you even dropped

Seek and you shall find
Everything in my own sweet time
I'll take my chances
With what I believe is only mine...

Busy holding on
So the roof don't fly
Keep you from moving on
So get it right
Turn the tide over
Like a love song
Like a butterfly
Believe me if you hand it over
You'll come out ... all right
Yeah

Everybody got their something
Make you smile, like an itty bitty child
Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something

Hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey heey
Hey hey hey hey hey hey heeeeey
Uh huh
Uh huh

Illuminate the silly things
Shed some light on all that's wrong
Everybody need it...sometime
Sometimes the only thing you got is what makes...
You...feel like you're something else ... altogether
You have everything
You don't need another reason to be something
I've been on a ride
And caught up in the landslide
But I'm gonna spread my wings and fly...
High high high high high high
High high high high high high high...
Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hooo
Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoooohoo
Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something
Make you smile, like an itty bitty child
Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something
Hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey hey
Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something
Make you smile, like an itty bitty child
Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something

Hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey hey heeey...

OH MAAAAAAN !!! It just happened again. Did anyone else fall for it? Do you even know the song that I mean? Isn't it better?
The exact same thing happened to me! I was really mad. But I do like this song, along with Cherry Lips.

Yup, you did...this is the place... nothing wrong with Prince's "little sister"...samples low, funk is VERY high
did I get the right station

I agree with you anniebear. Quite a danceable tune!

My thoughts exactly - like maybe something by Alana Davis? This is sucko-barfo.

Spelling mistakes are all well and good and aren't usually worth pointing out... except when you capitalize and H-I-F-E-N-A-I-T each letter. And when the new word sounds more like 'sah-lut' as in 'Jane, you ignorant ____' (from SNL). Now that's funny.

Great little tune. I agree that it's nice to hear something with a dance beat. Thanks RP!

It's refreshing to hear something funky and soulful on RP. Overall, I'm happy with the music here, but every once in a while it delves a bit too heavily into country territory. "Disco crap" this is not. It's soul.

Not something I'd expect to hear on RP... but I'm not complaining. Nice little groove to end the work day to!
Same old tick tock for the past few tunes. Formula for something. Something I would rather not listen to.
When does it start?
Sounds like mass-produced workaday pop tripe to me. Am I missing something?

Interesting how this has been well-received by the RP community. Makes me think people can handle more variety than the current playlist shows...
Her weird little throat thing makes my fillings tingle - like aluminum foil. Can't take it. Nice tune, though. Agreed: expand the playlist!
Nikka's godfather was Ol' Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra (although I'm not certain he'd approve of her music). Another good R&B groove she does is Like a Feather...

Guilty pleasure. Me likey. Also like the tie in to "Blue Crush". Makes me think of those nice, tiny butts in Hawaii.

Dude, you're not allowed to comment on the playlist like that, someone will tell you to leave and go to Clear Channel

That's too funny, that's what I thought at first. But I do dig this. (pimp)

When this song started I thought it was "Cherry Lips" by Garbage that is found on the PS2 game Amplitude. I was let down. :( I wonder who got ripped?

Great intro. Love that corruption of the standard blues bas.

Nice
I swear this is as close as you can come to intelligible singing while sounding just like a human baby. Bizarro...
This is perfect music for a shitty Monday. Oh great - Aretha next.

It's not sampled, but it is pretty much the identical bass riff to Sly and The Family Stone's "If You Want Me to Stay."
Segue to Sly on this date... did RP actually come up with that on their own or do they actually read these things? :-k

Sounds too much like disco crap.
You are confused. Disco never sounded like this.
I heard her first single, Like a Feather, and I just kinda made note of her, but when I heard this track, I decided to pick up the CD. And I like it! Kinda Joplin meets Fiona meets Sly meets Zep. Sassy sounding girl, bet she likes beer and BBQs on hot summer days :sunny.gif:
does no one remember little nikka costa, pre-teen pop sensation of the mid-80s? i saw her open for the Police on one of their tours when she was like... 12 or something. she's a bit funkier now.

Dude! I was thinking the same thing!!! I bet Garbage sampled this, that's their speciality...
