GREAT TUNE!   (1966)  I was 11yrs old when this came out. WMCA  570  AM  NYC  (The Good Guys) used to play it a lot. I bought the 45. Brings back memories.  Thanx RP!
Thanks Bill! R.I.P. Jamie Lyons. Great garage classic.

Aahh! The pure pop jubilation of being in a garage band!!!
RIP Jamie Lyons.
I loved this when I was a kid. Still pretty good.

September 28, 2006 - The Ohio native heard singing the 1960s garage-rock hit "Little Bit o' Soul" has died. Music Explosion lead singer Jamie Lyons died of a heart attack Monday at his home in Little River. He was 57. His former road manager in Columbus, Ohio, says Lyons was powerful on stage and had a way of winning everybody over. The Music Explosion formed in Mansfield, Ohio, in 1966 and released "Little Bit o' Soul" the following year. The song spent 16 weeks on the Billboard magazine pop chart, peaking at Number Two. Lyons was originally from Galion, Ohio.
These guys are a "One Hit Wonder" from my hometown--glad they made the main channel with this feel good song.
