Uptight, thinking things over,
Conversations running round my head,
Good times last so much longer
And summer loving going straight to my head
Some day when I can

Cool skies drinking the sunshine
Feel the wind blowing through my hair
It's our time, for talking it over
Take you home fall into my bed
Some day when I can

Sometimes, clouds will come over
Leopard spots in front of my eyes
One day when I feel a lot better
Take a train to a cooler climes
Some day when I can.

coulda been the Beatles
that's some wa-wa stuff goin on there.
What a great album this is - love the opening track to bits! 👍
Back in the 90s, when "We're Alright" was all over the radio, I dismissed these guys as a one-hit wonder.  Didn't come across any other tracks by them until 10 years later.

Glad to be proven wrong.

Such a good track. Such a good band. Such a shame they split.

Such is life.
Sorry folks. I didn't mean to be so redundant. It gets me every time. I just now turned up the volume on the first notes expecting Call The Doctor.

In response to both of your questions: Kind of, but it's a pretty standard, well-used, minor-chord progression, and I doubt these guys listened to J.J. Cale very much.

oh wow this is old---nice guitar very good.

I agree...I had this disc when it came out, and I sure dug them but no one else did...and then this got pushed to the back and apparently didn't survive the last move or two...and after Road to Rouen I thought they were showing their true potential and looked back for this and missed it.  Nice to hear it on RP!

My sympathies for the moving loss—BT,DT, sadly, a couple times. I'm really grateful to RP (Bill & Rebecca—let's be clear) for reintroducing me to the music I missed while immersed in my work and family and missing much of the latter 70s through 2005 music-wise, except some classical and jazz.

I was thinking this sounded like the Grateful Dead.

Great composition!

Is it just me or is that wah rhythm guitar chord strike sampled from the Match Game theme song?

Nah, it's a different chord.  However, I now have the Match Game "thinking" theme going through my head. {#Confused}
That album cover is fantastic.

R.I.P. Supergrass. Hopefully out of their ashes something sublime will rise.
Jellyfishy.
Bass driven and wonderfully so.
And title.

Good stuff.  I really thought this was a Jellyfish song I hadn't heard.  Speaking of Jellyfish, I'll have to upload some o' them.  They're great and never get played anywhere.
This is catchy as hell!
I've got to get some Supergrass, these guys are great!

if they made versions would be more still acceptable -   4 / 5.

Excellent.

YES! I had this CD back when no one knew who they were. Gotta admit, I didn't like all the songs on it, maybe not more than a few, but this one had flashes of what I think is their masterpiece, Road to Rouen. Liking it, Bill, thanks. How about some Seahorses while we're in this period? Or Presidents of the USA? Lay it on us, man...
Oooo ... yes, Presidents. 'F*ck you kitty, you're gonna spend the night ... OUTSIDE!'
Wow. Early Supergrass. Me like!
