They were following me
They were following everyone
They had visions of me
Holding hands walking in to the sun?
Now people get down
People get down, people get hurt
When you did it to me
I was already in the ground

And I'll never get into your heart
Though I don't even want to start
I'll never get into your heart
I'm just happy to hang around
Happy to hang around
Happy to hang around

Take a picture of me
And show it to everyone
And no more pictures of you
No more love, no more setting sun
Now people get down
People get down, people get hurt
And when you did it to me
I was already in the dirt

And I'll never get into your heart
Though I don't even want to start
I'll never get into your heart
I'm just happy to hang around
Happy to hang around
Happy to hang around

And I'll never get into your heart
Though I don't even want to start
I'll never get into your heart
I'm just happy to hang around
Happy to hang around
Happy to hang around

One of those bands discovered because of RP. I don't like everything they produce but HEY! I don't like Brussels Sprouts either.
Which one's Travis?
No comments since 2014 so I might as well keep things alive...  I quite like Travis but they were/are too emasculated for me. This particular song at least has a catchy hook. Come on Travis, turn up your amps to 11 and give it some!

Ahh, something with some meat on it.
These guys are masters of vocal melodic hook
way wow

Snore!!! This is an audio equivalent of a sloth! Nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there!

Nice guitar break though.

I am trying to write a script here, but have to stop to write down names of new bands Bill is turning me on to today.  Thanks, Captain Bill.   Wheels up.
Phil Keagy's twin!  {#Bounce}
great songwriting - as usual!
The first few notes of this song were ripped off from Timbuk3, and are being ruined by this song!

Do I hear a little Death Cab for Cutie in this song?

Ditto. Definitely appreciating it more.

I like when that angry guitar scratches in, -illustrates that sometimes even lame tunes have something to look forward to in them. The anticipation of such even makes me like the song a bit.
I'll never get into your heart I'm just happy to hang around ummmm....yep.
I've heard quite a bit of Travis before, pretty good IMO.
Yep. I don't know if they can (for me) ever 'hit' quite the way they did with "The Man Who", but this is a pretty decent album. ruthless wrote:

im not actually, they are legitimate complaints. RP has been on autopilot ever since the end of the fund drive.
I like this song.

I haven't yet figured out the significance of Travis in the music world.
Boring and soporific. Maybe it suits certain purposes. Maybe for those in a drug-induced haze. Sorry, I'm irritable because I must take more caffeine and stay awake to work, and this is making me want to doze off pronto!
But do you think he's really happy to hang around?

There are better songs from this album, but it still sounds good this evening. Thanks!

Decidedly meh.

there are so many better Travis songs out there than this one.
The opening 10 seconds sounds like it's going to be the Foo Fighter's cover of Prince's "Little Nicky"

Totally agree. I was extremely disappointed with it when it came out. However, RP has caused me to go back and re-evaluate it and it's not nearly as disapppointing now, as it was then.

I really like the heavy chords - it gets so intense. Otherwise, I'm not sure where this song is going. 7.

Thought this was Bono & the new U2 until I read the credits. I guess that's a backdoor compliment.

Travis. Better Live. Check em out here: click here
good tune, but not the best on this album
so bland it doesn't even deserve a last name.
