What have you done
Where have you been
Who do you know
Where have you been
Who do you know?

Nothing
No one
Nowhere
Mainly devil-may-care
Nothing
No one
Nowhere
I'm still picking things
From the air

Dizzy boy
Is there still joy
In being free
And in between
In being free
And in between?

Nothing
No one
Nowhere
Mainly devil-may-care
Nothing
No one
Nowhere
I'm still picking things
From the air
Dizzy boy

Wow, feel like I should have heard this before given the style and year. I guess it was probably inhibited by the chorus which isn’t quite hook-y enough to be on the national radio at the time.

Holy crap...I haven't heard this since I left Chicago (WXRT used to play it.) What a great tune! Thanks!

Love XRT.  Chicago's finest rock.  :)

Wish XRT still played music like this. Sadly they've become more classic than alternative rock.
Holy crap! I haven't heard this song in almost 30 years and had totally forgotten about it. Thanks for spinning it Bill!
Yes! More JudyBats please!!!
This. Yes. Please. Thanks.
Got to see these folks live a few times in grad school. Always an entertaining show, and always in small enough venues that we got to hang out with the band at the bar after the shows. They were a fun bunch.

Yep, I remember it from XRT as well and I had not heard it since either.  Viva RP!
Thank you for that blast. I just relived a brief memory of more carefree days of college.
Wow!  I had this album back in college.  really loved it.  Thanks RP!  Truly a blast from the past.
I just saw an image of a woman eating a bat from a wet market in China in light of the pandemic we are in, so seeing this band's name is triggering some emotions.
Nice to hear this nugget.  Truly eclectic!
It's been awhile since I've heard the JudyBats. Nice!
Hey boys and girls... can you say, "This Sucks?"
Holy crap...I haven't heard this since I left Chicago (WXRT used to play it.) What a great tune! Thanks!

Love the Judybats. They came out with a self-produced CD in 2000 (Judybats '00) that also was excellent. More, please!

How did I miss this band? Digging this song.... must check out thier other work... :D/
I've never heard anything from this album, but "pain makes you beautiful" is awesome. I highly recommend it. Whatever happened to the Judy Bats? Anyone know?

best thing I've seen in any song comment yet
I'm guessing you're a girl, so it's a little tricky, but I'm thinking along the lines of," There's no WAY this looks like a piano player." (For Alchemist)

OK, here's one for strange associations - I have a Judybats T-shirt from years ago from the "Down in the shacks(?) where the satillite dishes grow" album, which features a rather abstract, organic-looking image of satillite dishes. While at the grocery store, this young Chinese girl approached me and asked quite matter-of-factly, "Is that a penis on your shirt?". To this day I'm not sure what the proper come-back should have been!

Well, were you happy to see her?

The Judy Bats! What a blast from the past! I listened to this band a lot in my early 20's...and now I'm seeing big similarities between their sound and old Pixies stuff!
haven't heard this since college!
