Here is a song from the wrong side of town
Where I'm bound to the ground by the loneliest sound
That pounds from within and is pinning me down

Here is a page from the emptiest stage
A cage or the heaviest cross ever made
A gauge of the deadliest trap ever laid

And I thank you
For bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally I've found
That I belong here

The heat and the sickliest sweet smelling sheets
That cling to the backs of my knees and my feet
But I'm drowning in time to a desperate beat

And I thank you
For bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally I've found
That I belong

Feels like home
I should have known
From my first breath

God send the only true friend I call mine
who pretend that I'll make amends the next time
Befriend the glorious end of the line

And I thank you
For bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally I've found
That I belong here

I don't doubt that!

I thought it sounded like Alison Moyet. WAY off!
Martin Gore on the lead vocal...I will admit that his vocals can take some getting used to after decades of listening to David Gahan...but count me in.  Big fan.

well, when you are a DM fan you surely know that this song is cut short but then again, I have their albums at my disposal and listening pleasure {#Cheesygrin} even if it isn't at it's full length, I appreciate it's fixture at RP library
as for Boy George comment, no wonder considering it is sang by Martin Gore and not Dave Gahan. Martin Gore has much softer and mellower voice that DM's lead singer

ah thx. that explains it.

I really LOVE it when that happens! It really makes you appreciate what a great place RP is....
That is one beautiful voice.
The production bugs me a bit but there is no arguing the voice.

I was not a fan of DM back in the day, but now their music touches me, i do not know why!

Dear people who are bitching because this isn't a full cut:  Bill and Rebecca work with what they're given. They don't pull rabbits out of hats. If there's a better version of a song, UPLOAD it. Life doesn't always give us what we want, but unless we pitch in and try, we can't expect anything other than what we get.

P.S. - I love this song, and I had no idea it should have been longer. Sounded just fine to me.

Not for me!
Kudos to RP for playing this song...love it.
I think I'll upload the whole song. This is one of my top 5 Depeche Mode's tunes
Made me look
Wow, sounds like a Michael Bolton song. I love the 'Mode, but this will have to grow on me, if it ever plays again.  My first negative post! I've got a case of the Mondays a day late...

Yes, way way lame edit. Couldn't agree more. PLAY THE WHOLE SONG!

I agree.  I have a problem with a lot of the edits here.  Sometimes it's so bad it's like going to a showing of "Titanic" but they cut it off right after Kate and Leo are bumping uglies.
thank you... for not playing this again! lousy song, really embarrasing...
Love it!

maybe the best DM album, born in difficult times for the band, but wow : excellent from A to Z, Thanks RP for playing this !

can we have "it's no good" next time ? Or "Insight" which is not well known but fantastic

Nice groove this afternoon. Happy Civic Holiday/Family day, Canadians who observe it.
Justo ahora, cuando me dispongo a regresar a casa
Ending still cut off, but great to hear one of my all time DM favorites. Funny thing, while listening to The Church "Ripple" (played immediately before) made me wonder why Radio Paradise wasn't playing more Depeche Mode, and on it came! So Bill, yes, I heard the same similarities between the songs.
damn, second song ever on RP that made me turn my speakers off.  Nice work {#Puke}

Bill, I love you and all, but why did you feel it necessary to cut off the end of the song? Sad...

He probably couldn't take any more.
Near the top of my most-hated band list.

Does not sound like Slayer.
ahhhhh, nice — one of my favorites, thanks!  {#Notworthy}
yes that's killing end !! this album is one of my favorite, incredible sound by Flood, interesting piece of work despite Alan Wilder being gone and Dave Gahan's problem with drugs ..... hopefully music put him back on track with an excellent album ! thanks RP for playing that !
he sounds off key.

Why the cut ending?  That is my favorite part. :(

I own this album and after reading all the comments, now I HAVE to go listen to the whole song to see what is being cut-off... certainly don't remember, but I am definitely curious now....
Why the cut ending?  That is my favorite part. :(

Trite lyrics and mundane music.

You did NOT just cut off this song, y... you...
Nope, you did. You cut it off. I don't believe it.

Argghhh. come on Radio Paradise, play the whole thing. If you can play all the long minutes of a Mike Oldfield track, surely you can spare minutes for all of a Depeche Mode track... Very disappointed

Newer and far more heartfelt--after Gehan got clean and wasn't as numb. I will always love this band--synth or not, they always had something unique to offer.
I have the CD Ultra and I agree it is better and more heartfelt than the older stuff.
Sounds like DpM
Please tell me the rest of this album isn't this dull. Makes me want to pull out Black Celebration.
I'm really happy to hear this on here. Great song, too bad they cut out of it early and didn't play the whole thing.
uck pooey
Gonna bump it to an 8, just 'cause it's Martin singing. I think he has a better voice than Dave.
I'm sa huge DM fan but, at first listen, this doesn't quite measure up...........
