How nice that RP is eclectic. Now make it stop.
A clear 9 (at least)!
nice escape
I have this done on the Pipe Organ. This is almost as good. I got it because of Bill playing Toccata, so i went looking for that and found it done with Fugue(the proper way, no?) and they had this as well by the same lovely looking lady. edit:(I went looking for the link and can't find it. Google taunts me, and I seem to have forgotten to save the page)
Even on a foggy morning it works out very well. prickelpit96 wrote:

this is timeless and wonderful! no need to worry about the lack of rock in this minutes on RP. just a break between two 'normal' songs.
Reminds me of EL&P.
This is just classical music written in a manner that should sound a bit like jazz. Not jazz and certainly not rock, in most eclectic sense possible. 3 for the effort.

For a station that claims to play eclectic rock, I would say this is more eccentric than eclectic...
Yeah, so? nothing wrong with either one.
Saw this trio live in a great acoustic environment; they just sparkled. Albums (studio) didn't do them justice. I go for a live recording anytime as it really demonstrates the unproduced sound of a group/artist. JLT reintroduced many people to classical masters and rest is history.
My office is filled with divine joy! Thanks to J.S. Bach and J. Loussier.

Then I'm way for the eccentric stuff!

I think Snoopy would croak......
The only way I can listen to this any longer is if I stir some Wutang into it.....
Wow!My friend's dad had one of their 45s 40,yes 40 years ago(Air On A G String)Played to death as advert music in the UK.This is magic.
Contrary to everyone else's opinion I've heard too much of this kind of stuff today.
still blergy after all these years...

You've been eating those mushrooms that grow on Pigpen again, haven't you?
Sounds like Vince Guaraldi! (Love it.)
I can see Snoopy dancing on Shroeder's piano!
Sounds very much like Claude Bolling. Anyone liking this would also enjoy most (all) of Bolling's work. My personal favorite is the album Suite for Cello and Jazz Piano Trio (the cellist is Yo Yo Ma). Wow. This is my first RP posting after being a paying listener for over a year. RP is on almost constantly here these days...
And again you made made my day. I had to cranked it up (also because the timing was not perfect. The carillon in the Berkeley campanile next to me is playing at the same time :-).
Just made my evening at the computer that much nicer. Thanks, Bill!

Anyone else notice that the rotations are often repeated? As if all of the music is on some sort of giant loop? Just a general comment. I still like the music even if it is on a giant loop!
Yep..just repeated!
Wow...can't believe I like this...I usually detest this sorta stuff..what have you done to me, Bill!?!
VERY nice. EXCELLENT production quality, comes through very well on at 192K.
excellent change of pace.... bravo maestro, bravo...
is it classical? is it jazz!? WILL IT BE OVER SOON!!!? okay, okay, pretty groovy ... i admit.
Glenn Gould owns this... (click here)
Guilding the lily? As murphmeister said, "Why, Bill, why?"

Um, I heard that Bill is actually a computer named HAL. :-)
You made my day, Bill. Thanks!
Awesome piano playing in this peice!
Great stuff! Long been a Loussier fan.
Hey, its Friday night - poker night. The tunes are streaming through the Roku. Bill plays this song. Why, Bill, why?
Incredible Piano work! The music is great for mellowin out to.

Hey, you really ARE a genius!! Day-friggin'-oh!

If you read a little more into RP, Bill himself sets up songs he deems fit to play together in blocks. They all have a general theme and go together, this one seems to be in a "classical" sense.

For me the most uplifting piece here at RP.

I've pointed this out before. Since this is what search engines find, I'd say more than a few people come to RP looking for rock and find a multitude of other things, which may or may not be a pleasant surprise. The limitations of language, I suppose. Excellent tune, and fantastic stretch of music leading up to it.
Nevermind, re the link. It's probably this one (though different name): The Best of Play Bach (Multichannel Hybrid SACD). SACD...gotta be experiential! Thanks. (I hated piano lessons too!)
I hated piano-lessons.
I want to hear this on my new JBL L100s! The playlist link doesn't seem to find this particular CD...? On first hear, I think I like it, a lot. Thanks, RP.

Bill can figure out how to do that! ;>)
Well said! And I second the request for comments on the rating of 1. Especially for the LRC's!
Quite tasty!

No, indeed Bach was a genius, who changed music in general for ever! It's e.g. hard to find any composition that truly deserves the title "a Work of Genius" more than his "Mattheus Passion" does!

Who cares? It's just godlike music! Every time I hear it.

Didn't like it...but then I'm not a huge Jazz/Classical fan
I love Jacques and this is my favorite one of his, though actually I think I like the first movement better. It's a really happy piece of music (in the original arrangement as well).
Jacques Loussier is cool.
Kudos to the bass player!
The mix is the best!!

MIssed all but the very end, and it sounded like harpsichord? Need to hear it in its entirety to rate.

A nice twist to the mix. Ahhhhh...and the mix is so much it.

Not sure of what to make of this . . . but it holds my attention.
