I am not familiar with the artist. I have enjoyed hearing this song but I don't think I would despair if I never heard it again. I just can't stand the sound of fake synthesized drum machines.
please don't judge beth orton by this not-so-great song. she's amazing, really! thanks for introducing me to ms.orton, RP!! two years later and i still love her

Would it kill these producers to hire a breathing drummer?
That's some funny stuff there!!
The pacing of the singing doesn't fit the beat. As a remix, it's also pretty boring. Give me the original anyday.

I thought this was going to be "All Come True" by World Party.
Remixes sometimes fail to enhance the original, but oftentimes cast a whole new light. This sounds pretty standard, and is ok, but its hard to judge remixes since you can pretty much do anything you want to the original. FYI - check out the disc of Sarah Mclachlan (sp?) remixes; there's one disc out there that is all remixes, but I forget the name.

Feh. Fan of remixes when they actually add something. Prefer the original in this case.
I wish I had a girl who would do anything to see me smile again. That could be taken advantage of.
Thought it was Venus Hum for a minute...
Oh dear! NOT good... I think it lacks something that was in the original...
Yeah I think I like the original album version better too, although I would like to hear a good remix.
okay, cut it out now... too much B.O. for one day!
Two lone swordsmAn?

hmmm... these beats are a little too retro-electro for me. she should have Chemical Bros do a complete remix of the album instead. but i still diggit.
Great comments. Spot on. After buying Central Reservation, I can see how even bare bones electronica makes her songs better. The only two tracks that are decent are the ones that have been tarted up on that disc.
i was so sure this was going to become a depeche mode song...
This...... is..........so.........cool.
i'm diggin this one more after a few listens. i guess the kinda lo-fi electronica sound (if that makes any sense) is growing on me.
:headshake:
I love Beth Orton......this sucks.
Thanks Beth for defining the word Drone. Definitely not a showcase for her talent(?)
Beth isn't necessarily one of my favorite performers (something about the tone of her voice doesn't work for me), but in general I like her. That said, the cheesy drum machine and synth bass tracks in this mix overshadow the whole song, and knocks its rating down for me.
Looking at the notes below, I'm missing something. I think this tune is postively tuneful. Dynomite!
Just when I thought Beth Orton couldn't get any worse... along came this.
:headshake: guess this follows the alpha beta gaga by air well......about it though.

To me, this mix suits neither the song nor Orton's voice at all well.
Not bad. I added it to my Amazon.com Wish List.
