serene dream
soft easy winter
watering the dry spots on the day
water leaves of gray
serene dream
spend nowhere with me

isn't far to nowhere
rise and feel the bomb of fountains land
close your eyes in front of nowhere
language of no words
spend nowhere with me

serene dream
free of thirst and pain
heavy turns to cake
serene dream
where the ethers speak

it's a tall day
spend nowhere with me

Awfully similar to Kristin Hersh - Your Ghost, in my mind
5.7?? Really? A solid 2 in my book!
It's already raining here in NY - we don't need anymore depressing music. Please stop - I beg you.

if the band wasn't named "kidney thieves," and it didn't conjure up a picture of myself, in a bathtub full of ice, in a back room of a back alley in Malaysia (sometimes Taiwan), in which a cieling fan slowly rotates above, a bloody scalpel lies on the floor, and of course a note sits on the tub-side table telling me what was taken and just how long i have to get to the hospital, this song would be terrible. Circumstances taken into account, i think a 6ixer's in order...
You are refering to one of those internet folk lore stories that was floating around back in the 90's. It's all BS and I hope this band will soon have a name change!
5.7? really? This is a solid 7 in my book.
I'll have my kidney back, thank you.

Yes :-D But then I do rather like Kate Bush :)

you're seriously weird. also I think you ripped the idea off of Dirty Pretty Things
I love the cello....
The sensitive side of the Kidneythieves...
Does the world really need another Kate Bush sound-alike?

This is *so* different to the rest of the LP ... I hope no one buys it hoping to listen to more quiet and semi-acoustic songs, because the LP is a industrial/metal noisefest (which, btw, is why I like it ;-)).
Yeah, I was shocked to see this was by the Kidney Thieves. Now I'm going to have to admit to my husband that I don't hate all of their stuff. :-)
upon further review, my comment is sadly unoriginal...

Love the strings.. I picked up this album because of "Before I'm Dead" .. but it's nice that the style is varied.

I BOUGHT THE CD BCUS OF THIS SONG & THE REST OF THE CD SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE IT. REALLY HARD & GARBAGE -ESQUE.. GOOD THOUGH.
Some of thier songs were used on the Deux Ex 2 computer game to good effect.

Conventional and, well... Kate Bushish, but still nice.

Nice nickname-what with Thanksgiving coming up and all, traditionally we make MARZIPAN , or Bahn-ket for the Holidays... No panic though, we stock up ... tough to find in Dutch areas.

I know this probably sounds horrible, but the group name and song title reminds me of the urban myth about a person waking up in an ice-filled tub with one of their internal organs missing. Apart from that I really like this song upon my first listen.
Isn't there an episode of the X-files about that sort of thing? Seems like I recall one that had a China Town angle to it. Maybe not. Anyway, this is pretty good.

Actually, that's what they're named after. What someone might not realize if this song is their first exposure to kidneythieves is that for the most part, they're considered to be an industrial band, though they do experiment in other genres. Another song you might want to check out is "Feathers" off of their debut "Trickster"; harder songs that are a little more true to form include "Pleasant", "S+M(A Love Song)" and "Taxicab Messiah" off of that same album, or the title track off of "Zer0space". :D Buon Appetit!

Nice song. There used to be a time where every new and progressive female singer songwriter was compared with Kate Bush, kind of unfairly. But I have to say that some of the vocal stylings here remind me of... Kate Bush. But in a good way.
Had me fooled there for a second. If only Kate would come back. She'd probably be written off as sounding too much like Tori Amos

Liked the song alright, but my first thought was, "I hope that's not Tori, cause she's out of tune!"
Aghghghghhhhggggg someone is whispering at me.
It's not working for me. I think part of it has to do with group's name....
Kidneythieves contributed a few songs for the "Deux Ex - Hidden War" game
Can't decide whether it's like a dirge (bad) or hypnotic (good)
RP plays too many lame female vocalists..anyone agree with me? This one sounds like Tori.

Love the cello break.
The cello works so well in rock it's a surprise it's not used more often.
Sleepy time for me. But I like it. (pimp)

This singer sounds just like Kate Bush. It's startling.... but just as I get ready to commit this sentence, she sounds less like her. Bah.

yup. thats what brought me to the comment page on this one. coming up with band names nowadays must be getting hard. song sounded nice though.
I'm glad to see the song was added to the playlist. Thanks so much Bill! :D
