But for the grace of God she'd cry herself to sleep,
Because the grace of God is something she can keep.

Ohhh it won't be long until their hold is broken,
Ohhh it won't be long until we've found our home.

It's for the good of you I sing sweet melody,
They'll cast the first stone when the last one's out of reach.

Ohhh it won't be long their hold is broken,
Ohhh it won't be long until we've found our home.

Forget where to begin,
Brother I have not sinned.

I have not sinned.

But for the grace of God she'd cry herself to sleep,
But now the grace of God is the reason that she weeps.

Ohhh it won't be long until their hold is broken,
Ohhh it won't be long until we've found our home.

When summer comes - light my life - snow will melt away,
When summer comes - light my life - snow will melt away.

I was born again, I was born again,
Not into the world they put me in,
She was born again, she was born again,
Not into the world they put her in.

I was born again, I was born again,
Not into the world they put me in,
She was born again, she was born again,
Not into the world they put her in.

It's a metaphorical statement I believe...

What's with the Christian music? :headshake: This is the only song I have to turn off when listening to RP. Way overplayed.
Sometimes the song writer of a band has been moved, and writes about the experience. Doesn't make the whole band "about " something. Heaven forbid we might get a Biblical message along with our entertainment. (pun intended)
Nothing about this song strikes me as overtly Christian? Many songs have religious undertones....that's life, deal with it. It's not like this song is trying to convert you. (pimp)

It is a Neid Diamond colaboration with Stix...

I like this song ok, but I think the rotation is too heavy.

Morrissey Rules, The Smiths Rock, Starsailor is great!!!! Obviously you are tone deaf!!!!

And that's exactly what happened to me. I heard this song (as well as "Some Of Us") and then got the CD...it's fantastic.

You know what? I agree, and I've seen them in concert and hated it. This is a beautiful song.

Nothing to write home about.

speak for yourself. this band is trite and cornball. i'm a guy and i can't stand it. why does the world need ANOTHER supertramp? this is just painful tripe. silly pretentious mediocrity like this is not "superb," a solid 3.
Seconded. I'd say more but it's hard to type with my wrists slashed like this...
Love the ethos this song delivers.

mute mute mute mute mute mute mute mute mute - oh and MUTE!
Did they nick their name from the opening track on the Verve's first album? Methinks that is the case, judging by this song. It is pretty good nevertheless. :)

I like this song, but that is a superbly funny comment. Damn, now I'm confused.

Not! If you'd said Placebo, I'd agree, but not Coldplay. I'm actually quite impressed with what I've heard from Starsailor...they're on my Amazon watch-list. Thanks, RP. ;)

Placebo called and they want their singer back
I'm not sure what all the backlash is about re Starsail0r. I feel that more artists that sound like U2 and Coldplay would be welcome. Thank God they don't sound like Justin Timberlake or Britney. I don't think they come across as crass or sappy. This song made me think. It sounds like it's about a young life leaving this world and shedding his/her accumulated memory for beginning a new one (reincarnation). Makes me think of that teenage girl in Florida who was found dead after her abduction a few days ago. It's a sad story. The song is sad and happy at the same time. Sadness of a young life ending and the wonder of a new one starting. It's just my perception. Does anyone get the same sort of thing from this song?
J.S. Bach's "Suite for Unaccompanied Cello" on horse tranquilizers? Feh.
does nothing for me. if I was a 14 year old girl I might like it. but then I would like that 70's song " we had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun" Sorry to all that now have that crappy tune looping thru there head. why do bad songs stick in your brain so well ?
Whiny overwrought vocals that challenge the listener to remain concious. Ok that was a little over-the-top - but I have to say I find nothing appealing at all about the voice - and the music just feels pedestrian to me.

THAT is FUNNY! (though I do like the song)

Good - although you can overdose on their over-wrought emotions on a whole album of their music.
Sounds a lot like Robbie Williams.
The lead singer sounds like Bono.
you know... i am liking the new Starsailor that i've heard so far, but i have to admit that i'm a little disappointed. i was kind of hoping that they would take their music a little bit farther - maybe do something besides recording basically the exact same songs that they did on the first album, and just changing up the lyrics a little bit. oh well.
Nice one, i like this kind of energy and emotion. Simple and beatufiul melody. :)
nice.
sounds like they've taken some notes from Matt Pond in the time since their previous album. tasteful (read - not too sappy) string arrangements and all. glad to hear it!

That sure was some nice writing, although, like the song, it's a bit jumbled in its metaphors. Still not sure if I like the song or not yet.
The lead singer is reminding me of the frontman for The Origin.
:meditate.gif: nice :sunny.gif:
agreed. Good acoustic technique and lush harmonies without being too layered
This is the first time I've heard this one, but I've liked all the other Starsailor tunes. I started at 6, but once this song kicks into gear, it's REALLY good. A clear 7 for me, maybe even 8 upon repeat listening. Thanks again, RP.
