Because this is the first Cesaria track I ever heard, on a collection with female African singers, and I've loved her music ever since. I like the live atmosphere on this track. (yes, I uploaded this) I do see your point though, the version on "Miss Perfumado" is perhaps a better intrduction to Cesaria Evaro. hcaudill wrote:

When I saw her live, she was standing and sober, thank you very much. She did include an instrumental song half-way, in order to have a smoking break on-stage, in the middle of a non-smoking theatre... hcaudill wrote:

Totally agree with what's been said here - of all Cesaria Evora tracks to pick, why this lousy live performance? Way too much sing-along, random interruptions of applause, and self-indulgent soloing. And Cesaria herself is definitely not at the top of her form - I'm told that she performs sitting down, with a bottle of whisky in one hand and a cigarette in the other. She definitely sounds a little sloshed in this recording. Anway. Please replace this with original studio version, which really does her voice justice.

Sounds lke the needle got stuck in the groove of an LP. This sound is incredibly repetitive, rendering it boring and annoying.

I liked this well enough to come here and give it a 6. And surprising for me to add a comment, given that I've never heard them before. I mean... it's pretty good for a live performance. And 'audience clapping too much'? C'mon guys... have you never been to a live gig?

Yes - studio, please. The audience is really over-enthusiastic on this cut...though the tune grooves very nicely - just wish the instruments could be heard. Put this one down to not particularly good production...
