And them are gurls too, How 'bout that!
Some fiddlin' & pickin'!
I liked Dixie Chicks. Damn good musicians. Cute, too. But I really liked them when they put it to Bush. Liked them yet still more when the Far Wrong made a big stink about what they said and boycotted them. Absolutely loved them when Toby Keith made a complete ars out of himself at their expense. My respect to anyone who can bring to light so much irony. Long live the Chicks!!
I can't deny: They can play, and I like their sound. .
So we're back to the "Love it or Leave It" mentality? That logic, 30 years ago, prompted the reply, "Change it or Lose it." It doesn't seem like the "uniter not a divider" is succeeding in this arena either. A house divided cannot stand. As Rodney King said, "Can't we all just get along?" :)

Politics aside. That song just screamed, just dynamite. After all, this site is all about the music anyway, right?
Hear hear!! (or is it Here here?)

Last time I checked, the people on this recording had a bit of cash and public exposure as well. Kneejerk somewhere else, this is about music.
Hey gypsy, I'm standing up for what I believe in, which is this great country we live in. If you don't like it, leave.

These Texas women show all those air-head Nashville "musicians" what it means to PLAY. I love that they stand up for their country. I love that they stand up for musicians who get screwed by Big Business Record Labels. I love that they play banjo. I love that they are for family values. More Dixie Chicks! Bring em on!

Your an idiot, and I rarely say such things. I do not necessarily agree with the Dixie Chicks but support their First Amendment right to say what they think.
Pot to kettle: you are a nubian! ("What's a nubian?") You're the one who brought up the first amendment, not me. The first amendment speaks to congress passing no law abridging the freedom of speech. How is that relevant to anything that I said? So I'm an idiot. Tell me something I don't know already.

awesome fiddle and banjo! Guitar too. Damn, this is some great bluegrass!
The "Home" CD is very, very good - approaching the musianship of Union Station - and I'd like to hear a lot of it on RP. The fact that they have said, from the pedestal of celebrity, that our president is an embarrassment earns only my deeper regard. The only sad part of the incident is that they were pressured to apologize for stating an opinion in a democracy.
"Your an idiot, and I rarely say such things. I do not necessarily agree with the Dixie Chicks but support their First Amendment right to say what they think." And we have a right to not listen to their spew, as well as yours. This guy has as much a right to express himself without being called names.

I like their politics, although I don't know what that has to do with this song (which I like too). More power to anyone who stands up for what they believe in, especially when it goes against the moneyed interests that run this country.

I gotta admit, as soon as I saw their name in the "Now Playing" field, I thought about how I hate this whole political thing they're involved in. And I just hate it because it was so stupid for them to make those comments, no matter how they felt. The second thought was that I don't usually like the Dixie Chicks. The third thought was I'll give this song a chance. The fourth thought was I don't like it at all.
