Crazy, but that's how it goes, millions of people, living as hoes,
But maybe, it's not too late,
to learn how to love and forget how to hate,

But mental wounds, they still heal, but drivin' me, insane,
I'm going off the rails of my crazy train,

I've listened to preachers, I've even listened to fools, y'all.
I've watched all the dropouts, who make their own rules,
See that person's condition, to whom they control,
You know the media sells it y'all, and you live the woe,

But mental wounds, they still heal, but drivin' me, insane,
I'm going off the rails of my crazy train,

I know that things ain't going well for my ass,
But you got to listen to my words,

As of a cold war, that's what we've become,
Inheriting troubles, yo i'm mentally numb,
Crazy, I just cannot bear,
I'm livin' with something, that just isn't fair,

With mental wounds, not healin', drivin' me, insane,
See I'm going off the rails of that crazy train,

Crazy.

more of criminals please! love them!
We need Hellsongs rendition of "I just want you" after this!

Heard the beginning if this from the other room & was ready for some Ozzy. Then this happened... IMO like putting a silk hat on a pig- it just doesn't work.
YEA!

Holy shit did this train come off the tracks.

Hard to say.  Sounds vaguely familiar though.  {#Ask}

If I'm not mistaken, I also heard "I know that things are going wrong for my ex"...  Beauty.

And here I thought it couldn't get any worse than Opium Jukebox's Iron Man...

silly me
Randy Rhodes was the man ...this parody (original interpretation) didnt work ..for me

That's what I heard

That's what I heard too, I think he may be updating the lyrics a bit. The lyrics sites say the original word is "foes".

What the heck is this?
Opium Jukebox's "Iron Man" followed by this—Bill, you are brilliant!  Brilliant in a way that's slightly unnerving, but still—brilliant!
Hahaha!  RP is out of control!  I like this better than Ozzy.  Much better.
did he say millions of people living as "ho's" ?
...oh bill, you're tearing up the tubes this afternoon!..  {#Roflol}
rated a 10 due to dorks that gave this a 1
Hey, if you're gonna' go this direction, you gotta' go Richard Cheese baby!
Remember that scene in "Air America" with the lounge act cheesing their way through America's "Horse With No Name"?  That's what this reminds me of...  It's so awful, it's great.  Lots of fun for a Halloween weekend. {#Roflol}
Totally dug this!
Hey, it's almost Halloween, Come on!  It's fun!
Now I know Bill promised to play it only once, but isn't it time to break out Enter Sandman again? {#Cheesygrin}
uhmmm...okay...jury still out...5
mark knopfler wanna be on a bad day?
Seriously.......?????

Flaccid at best.
MIM-O-SA........like LEV-EE-Oh-SA, or what ever spell Hermoine Granger spoke.....
His voice gets hidden too much in the music, during the breaks/fills, IMO. Nice, otherwise.

Almost 30% 1 votes. Hhmmmm ... I wonder if the Ozzy version got a similar ratio? Update: nope. only ~7% are haters of that.
Usually when I loathe a cover it's because I loved the original. Seems to be the reverse, here--I like this version quite well!
If someone is going to do a remake, turn it inside out and make it your own. Hats off the FLC for doing just that.
This is the weakest, lamest, youtubey remake I have ever heard. As much as I enjoy Bills finds in the remake department, THIS IS NOT RP material
What the hell is this? Just stick with the original!
sweet!, soulful! ...I feel like I'm at a wedding, after the band gets drunk.
Stop it! Just stop it!

Leonard Cohen?
Y'know? It's almost guarenteed that if a song is a cover, there will be a strong contingent of music snobs who can only narrow-mindedly see the original as vastly superior. These folk need to lighten up and have some fun with their sacred classics.

Pat Boone's cover is far superior.
Aztec Camera?
Great song Great lyrics "learn who to love and forget how to hate"

Which is pure genius.
Where's the Ozzy version? This is no comparison, except disgusting!

Cripes, I have to come in here just to dis this song again... Pat Boone, pretending to be Mark Knopfler, pretending to be Ozzy Osborne. But they're coouuuuusinnnnns....
A 10. This is a perfect example of... something something.

Totally agree. It's funny how people 'go off the rails' here and shoot down covers that aren't different enough from the original, then crap on this one for being too different. I like the original, but at this point it's pretty much pure camp anyway... If the original didn't exist I'd still like this version, but since the original does exist, this one gets extra stars for finding something unusual in it that makes it new again.
Shades of Dire Straits' "My Parties". The secret's in the cheese...
Gets a 9 strictly on humor value. This is hilarious!

Of course. I particularly like his version of Rape Me.
This song doesn't seem to have very good flow. It just bounces all over the place. Sucko. Barfo.
I think it's hilarious! c'mon, where's your funny bone? broken?

This is garbage.
you said that about the last song (Avalanches, "Frontier Psychiatrist"). are they both garbage in the same way? what don't you like about them?
The lounge version they used for the credits for The Osbournes was catchier in my opinion.
This is garbage.
Of all the FLC tracks, why pick this lemon?
Heh, check out the cover Travis did of "Hit Me Baby One More Time."
almost as funny as The Gourds' version of "Gin & Juice"
Made me laugh :) And haha to the haters who are very SERIOUS BUSINESS about this. Try a latte enema or something.

LOL
This is almost as bad as the Vegas lounge version put out by Pat Boone in the late 90's!!!
Have a great weekend you crazy bastards!! Let's go Mets!!
I thought this was Mark Knopfler and couldn't figure out why the HELL he did a cover of this. Oh, I crack me up sometimes.
I coulda swore this was "Richard Cheese"... https://www.richardcheese.com/rclounge.html (click here)
No wonder you only play this about once a year. Next time try making it two years.
Doesn't he sound like my hero, MK? My Parties, On Every Street.
I don't know what made me laugh harder, the first ten seconds of this or the links to www.iiiiiiii.com. Thanks, ever'body! Nice mental illness theme in this set.
No No No!!! I could sing this poorly. Bill, I can send you a tape.
Funniest play list ever.
Fun Lovin' Criminals - Crazy Train Black Sabbath - Paranoid Rockwell - Someones Watching Me
I don't think this song could get any different. Van Halen hands down rocks this song like non other but not too bad.
this is great! my hubby is always cracking me up by singing odd hardcore songs in swing tempo. I guess he has brainwashed me...

Is that Mark Knopfler singing it? Ye Gods, now that'd be crazy!
"ay yay yay" is right... The original is just much cooler.
Even though this song needs the previous song's help, it's just not good at all. Good set manipulation, bad song.
And some of my uploads were rejected? Oh my! The Carbon Leaf version of this song is so much better, IMHO.
This is much more fun than the plodding original.
Hmm...not sure how I feel about this. Love the Ozzy version, but this is kind of funny...not bad actually. Still, it is the Crazy Train. If I am going off the rails on the crazy train, I want to go way off...not bad lounge off. Anyway...

Totally agree!!! FLC make cool tongue in cheek music that is great for certain times, eg when you just wanna chill... Not their strongest tune, but still a 7 from me. :goodvibes:
This reminds me of that Simpsons episode where they turn "Planet Of The Apes" into a musical.....

you really have to play this with the cardigans' lounge cover of 'iron man', or their barbershop-style version of 'mr.crowley'.

Where DO you find all these radical covers, RP?? Ozzy on qualudes....
Well, I uploaded it I first heard this on a sunny afternoon on an open-air music festival, lying in the sun, and it really hit the spot. Especially the guitar. I was not neccesarily sober, though. I had no idea this was a cover (of a cover again?), I just liked the relaxed tune with the tongue placed firmly in cheek. Then again, I'm really no Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath/Hardrock fan. That may explain things. This is so obviously intentionally cheesy, that it's probably way cooler than the hard-rock original. So there. I agree though, that RP often plays some rather unusual covers, but that's really not a bad thing. ANNE_MARIE wrote:
too much cheese man.
Well, it was a Dutch festival.
Stop it please! Ozzy does it much better. These guys sound just so..... confused!
It's OK to remake a song, but this is a remake of the remake. Cheesy.
*giggles maniacally*
I dig it. I love the intro to the original, but once they lyrics start the original song sounds very different--very dated. This one is fresh & fun. /Chris

You've obviously never heard the theme music to The Osbournes...
I don't think it's sacrilege...just awful.

Sounds like Bill Murray's old cabaret singer schtick from SNL from years ago...

Didn't Pat Boone do a cover of this tune? I'd rather hear that one...
It's almost a deadlock as to which cover is worse.
It makes me want to sip a mimosa and eat cantelope as I make the grapes dance on my plate.

This is hysterical!
It is, and was meant to be. Just as funny is the reaction of those who hold the original version in such high esteem and consider this to be a sacrilege. Few songs in the rock pantheon are “above” a tongue-in-cheek send-up -- and Crazy Train isn’t one of them.
camarkim wrote:
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that this sounds like Mark Knopfler on vocals.
I agree but I hate to even tenuously associate someone of that level of talent with ..............
I don't rate many songs 1 but I have for the last two played. No, wait, Ween just came on - make that a Sucko Barfo trifecta.
This is hysterical!
