Thin december air is like the dry ice smoke
You'll come to your senses or inhale and
choke
My IQ allows me to brush you aside
You're zeros and ones, you're wrong where
I'm right

Now, the tyrant is dead and his lady is free
I am going ahead with the reinvention of me
Now the king lies here dead, now the king
lies here dead

It's not as wet as the rain or
as cold as the snow
It drives him in hard to the sane and the
simple soul

I take a charge at my chance
you know how it is
Let go of my hand
you know how it is

Now, the tyrant is dead and his lady is free
I am going ahead with the reinvention of me

And my IQ allows me to brush you aside

Now, the tyrant is dead and his lady is free
I am going ahead with the reinvention of me
Now the king lies here dead, now the king
lies here dead

I've often wondered if Kent has a following among English-speakers mostly because they sing in Swedish. Hearing this just strengthens this hunch. This reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins at their most annoying.

When were they most annoying, lol? Wasn't that the Smashing Pumpkins' trademark? (I like both bands, though only know this song from Kent :)
They sound so much better in Swedish...

My mom and her twin sister used to as well. It was the first one I smoked,(unbeknownst to either of them). I thought I was going to die!
Truly awful

Interesting.  Don't they have a King in Sweden?  Or is he dead?

Yes, really interesting... There is so much good stuff from Scandinavia...

Wikipedia says Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden owns several Porsche 911s, an AC Cobra, and presents the annual Nobel Prizes.  It does not mention his alcohol consumption level.

Superbly followed by Panic In Detroit today ...
Lacks the energy of the Swedish original.
Kent  just announced that will play their last concerts, according to themselves, later this year, going on a Scandinavian farewell tour!
Sorry to learn that the only Swedish quality export product will have an end to it....
Oh, I forgot, Sweden also exports their köttbullar, good for their GDP.

nice number—and the album cover is mesmerizing.

Recognized them even if in this one they sing in English for a change. Depressing as usual ... but good stuff

Yep. Authentic versions of the songs please. :)
Not a bad tune, but that guitar got on my nerves after awhile...
By all means, please upload the Swedish version and other Kent songs in Swedish!

I think they'd sound much better if I couldn't hear them.
Nice!
I've got the Swedish version of this CD, bought in a record shop in Gothenburg, and I've got to say I prefer the original language, though perhaps that's perversity on my part. I do like the sound of Swedish, though, despite only knowing a handful of words. Given how abtruse and cryptic the English lyrics are, I reckon I probably understood the Swedish better.
Det låter bättre på svenska. Men det är trevligt att höra dem i alla fall.
I actually like this. But for me the best Kent's song is 'Den Döda Vinkeln' :)
Ack, stop the whining.....my ears are bleeding. {#Razz}
thought it was Supergrass and was enjoying it
Is it just me? These beginning riffs had me half expected this to be "18 and Life" by Skidrow. Ha!
Uh...this is a cool tune and I really like the production of it. The album art cover is intriguing too.

You got that right! Vapen & Ammunition is another good album by Kent.
More incessant whining. I got bored with this kind of crap back in the 90's. And Kent definitely has much better offerings than this drivel.
IF ONLY!
This band definitely sounds better in Swedish...
i saw these guys at a small festival in nashville many years ago. i liked them at the time. i loved Isola. i kinda fell off the boat though. i can still give them a listen if they pop up on shuffle, but i don't seek it out anymore.
I listen to radio paradise to get away from swedish rock! just kidding... it not all bad. I had never heard kent in english before.
I've had the beginning of this song as my cellphone ringtone for so long that I wondered why my phone was ringing with such a high-quality rendition for a few seconds...
i'm diggin this one! is the singer the woman shown on the album cover?

big fan of kent, but have to agree this is one of their more 'bland' songs... makes me feel kent are misrepresented on RP! there's a couple of (imho) better tracks on the LRC at the moment, so hopefully they'll make it to the playlist...
bland!
I love Kent but better in their native tongue
It's okay. But it doesn't half remind me of Take That's 'Patience' Now there would be an RP cross-over record... (tee hee)
I was like \"hm, this sounds like Kent in English.\" I\'m so used to the Swedish version, but this is so great to hear on RP. So eclectic. Kent is amazing
The more that I hear these guys..the more I like !

Very sneaky, Sis! Going from Stewart Copeland (aka Klark Kent) to Kent... very clever!

Beggers can't be choosers besides RP's rating scale only goes up to ten, so if it were in Swedish, therefore better :p I couldn't rate it higher anyway

They're played quite a lot on RP - first time I've heard a song by them in English! prefer the swedish-language stuff somehow...

Nice. Seems we're getting some decent pop music out of Sweden lately. Sometimes they suffer from a bit of Mentos Syndrome, but Jeez they're better than a lot of US bands on Top 40 these days. Ditto below...play something in Swedish. We listen to all these other trax in Spanish and Swahili, why not?
If you wouldn't mind some Swedish lyrics, try one of the "hits" off their last album, "Vapen och Ammunition" . One of their best albums.
I really like this band but they sound better singing in Swedish.
i like it. yay.

My wife is Swedish. I spend a lot of time in Sweden. I like Swedish rock. But this is awful. Dancing Queen or anything else....please! Oye, btw, is very much a Swedish word.

I don't agree really, as far as i'm concerned the lyrics are about domestic violence.

The Monkees meet Oasis? Interesting sound.
Thanks for playing it RP! It\'s a great song!
