Then I come in, they go mad
Hit my nose and hit my back
Break me every single bone
Throw me out just like a stone

It's the corner, it's the dress
Small the town and big the mess
That I cause with every step
But still I walk, nonetheless

They're skipping backwards
They're trashing days
Is that all they're believing in?
Smash my heads to make it spin

It won't change so come with me
Just with your eyes I will see
Just with your arms I can hold
And keep away them dump and cold

They're skipping backwards
They're trashing days
Is that all they're believing in?
Smashing heads to make them spin

We do get some Perry Farrell and Jane's Addiction, and Bill recently added a touch o' the Mould. I agree with the poster who said that  Robert Johnson is given short shrift. And, to me, some intentful Rap—Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, for example—would be welcome.

Me thinks nowhere that quality innovative great varietal music is played like here on R.P should Perry and Jane's be omitted!

Bob Mould, what an amazing RP omission (i.e. he is never played here, nor Husker Du).  Maybe that and Perry Farrel/Jane's Addiction would be the biggest by RP.  Who else?

Nice harmonies and use of banjo, peaked my interest, I will check out this record.

Never heared about these guys, but this is really not bad!!

Interesting sound ... can't help but like it.
love the notwist. I really need to check out The Devil, You + Me (their new record)
Nice to hear Notwist on RP!
This song was so annoying I actually had to hit the mute button! A first for radio paradise.
lori andersonish . . .
This is a very good album. Didn't know Germans were this creative lol.
This is rather unique and I love it.
this song is The Notwist reminiscing over their earlier work where they were loud punk rockers, hence Thrashing. Not the best song on the album, but a great album nonetheless.

do my ears deceive me or is this more post-modern use of a banjo??
interesting. gives the tune a "Dark Hollar" feel.
"these guys are an amazing band out of Germany" there's a sentence you don't see much.

I like it. Kinda Iron & Wine meets Kraftwerk. Thanks to RP for continuing to play obscure bands like these guys.
reminds me of the movie ravenous

Are we talking about tthe same band? They sound kind of mediocre to me...
Well, this is definitely not the best song on this album. I like The Notwist a lot

Anyone know who this singer is? His voice sounds very familiar. I'm thinking New Order, but I don't think that is quite right.

This has been a great little run of songs you just did.... Very happy to hear the Notwist get some play. Love this album
There's some little glitchy lips-smacking-type sound in this song that absolutely makes me nauseous. I can't listen to it.

Am I hearing the sound of a needle,or a scratched album? Of course this probably wasn't on a vinyl album!
one of the samples used - one of hi hat+snare samples has it on it. was kind of trendy for a while to have the sound of the LP on yer cd. got tired pretty quick but you still see it used now'an'then.

We are hearing the same thing, but I think it's intentional on the part of the artist, for whatever reason...perhaps to make it sound "vintage"??
C'mon! There is more than the straightforward instrumentation of old bands like Yes, Pink Floyd, and Peter Gabriël. Time to catch up with the new millennium.
