I heard the B-52 vocal (Kate Pierson?) but in my mind, I'm seguéing into "Green Tambourine."  I like this song - it evokes good memories.
smooth and groovy on this Saturday.
Very nice! One of those songs that I have to have after just a single listen.
Sounds like the B-52s.
I was thinking it had a Luscious Jackson feel to it.  Remember them?
**mute**
Sky Cries Mary = Unbelievable!  Always love to hear them, more please??
Karaoke ?
American Idol Tryouts ?

Nice transition from Procol Harum.
trippy, man. play it more!
I think these guys need to get more rest. They sound really sleepy. Coffee's Ready!! {#Eek}
I think your trying to seduce me... and i like it

i bought this album sometime back in the 90s in the locals section of a Seattle music store.  it's great to hear it again!  thanks bill.
nice song... but in the background is a sound like a phone ringing (like when phones still were ringing)...

that's making me nervous!  {#Confused}

Wow! First time I've heard this song (or band, for that matter) and I'm totally digging it. I agree about the Stone Roses vibe...
I bought this CD as a small record shop on Route 1 in Saugus Mass for about $2, based on some sense that I had heard of the band, where and why I cannot say. The entire CD flows very nicely in a trippy way. Comparisons with other groups are not very useful, but the entire CD is good. I also wonder why the band never got any real attention.

What...Clear Channel doesn't offer such segues? Darn!
Just like all those stations that play Neko Case.
SCM... awesome post-psychedelia. Well done!

Only RP would segue Jethro Tull into SCM. Can't complain either!

If the B52s ever covered the Kingston Trio, you'd get this.
Doing Scotch & Soda? MTA? Tijuana Jail?

Nice tune but the female singer reminds me too much of Stevie Nicks! YUK!
you're fired
I'm with tazmanicdevil on this one - I can't believe they aren't more well known. Saw them perform in a small club in Sacramento a few years back and they were great.

Dig this tune. They TOTALLY have a Stone Roses vibe going on with this one, especially the intro.
I can't believe I'm hearing this here. This is the best unknown band I know of. If you like Dead can Dance and similar, you love SCM. I think this is their best album but "Return to the Inner experiance" is also fantastic. I've owned three copies of Return to the Innner Experiance" and they were always borrowed promptly and never returned.
I haven't hear Sky Cries Mary in a while
... Amazing song, album, group! ... ...
Nice tune but the female singer reminds me too much of Stevie Nicks! YUK!
I love this album, love SKM. Good to hear it on RP.

Only RP would segue Jethro Tull into SCM. Can't complain either!

wow, I thought that it sounded a lot like Luscious Jackson. I liked Luscious Jackson, whatever happened to them?
Reminds me a lot of Soho. Nice tune.
skycriesmary.com will help you out for those who like what they hear. They started in the mid-late 1980's and ended in 1999 or 2000. This is album came out in 1994. If this song is of interest, try "Moon bathing on Sleeping Leaves" 1997. That was a great album, too. The height of Seattle sub-club culture. Great concert attraction with massive head dress and costume sets. Quite fantastic for those of us who dared enter into that realm of the Seattle 1990's under-culture. Underground bars and warehouse late-after hour clubs. if you could imagine....
I thought that we got rid of Chumbawamba?
I don't care for the woman's vocals at all. The rest of the song is rather tedious as well.
I'm just stunned. I didn't add SCM to my lists of requests because I was so sure very few listeners knew who they were. RP has been on a real roll today. What's next, Big Hat?!!! Wow! Another totally underappreciated group (and this is from their best LP imho).
Sky Cries Mary!!! MAJOR timemachine song and band, for that matter. I miss them. Great choice!
Great. Reminds me of a local L.A. band called This Great Religion I really liked in the early nineties. Very similar.
Although I enjoy the sound, there is nothing like an endlessly unintelligble refrain to underline my concerns about enunciation. Bugged me enough to search: There's no returning This turning inside This Timeless Turning This burning inside SCM lyrics page:https://www.wcug.wwu.edu/~cames/scm/lyrics/

Ooh, I don\'t know these guys. That\'s great stuff. Nice swirling harmonies. Would like to hear more.
Do I hear Belinda Carlisle?
