cats and dogs are coming down
14th street is gonna drown
everyone else rushing round.

CHORUS:
i've got blonde on blonde
on my portable stereo
it's a lullabye
from a giant golden radio.

i've got no time i wanna lose
to people with something to prove
what can you do but let them talk
and make your way down the block.

CHORUS:
i've got blonde on blonde
on my portable stereo
it's a lullabye
from a giant golden radio. (X3)

it's a lullabye
from a giant golden radio.

it's a lullabye
from wonder-woman's radio. (X2)

it's a lullabye. (X6)

I drive past the location of Dylan's album cover shot frequently, so some good music pops into my head each time. This one too.

So moody. Not a bad thing.
Bump 6 > 7.  Lovely, lilting melody, but the lyrics writer might have gone an extra step.

Nice trick; this was released about 8 years before Lana Del Rey released any recordings and about 12 years before "Ultraviolence".
I've heard this hundreds of times over many years here at RP. Never rated it, really didn't even know who did it. I decided I love it. 8.

Uggg post-debut Lana Del Ray sucks. Whereas this song is classic!

This reminds me of a Deerhoof song. I can't remember which one. I love Deerhoof. This is nice.
Curiously good - grows on me. pxd
Tedium and Tediummer.  Absolute sucko-barfo.
Nice vibe to this one.
so who around here is Golden and who is Wonder?
It's strange. Not sure which one of you does most of the song choices but it's like it's right out of my own collection. Love it. I recall seeing these guys open up for Modest Mouse or Death Cab in Seattle when this album came out and it blew my mind.

Correct. This album is amzeballs and this song is probably my favorite on it.
My ears think these backing vocals suck.

Think I found a glitch in the matrix. Either that or Bill's reusing an old mix. {#Tongue-out}

I think this is putting me to sleep.

Saw them in Lausanne (Switzerland). They played this song among many others... such a long time that time itself seemed countless 📻 🔊
I saw these guys last year when they passed through Portland.  They played lots of great music, but not this song.  Damn!
Blonde on Blonde?  Sort of like scissors sisters ?

numbed...make it stop....what is with those backup singers? ew!
Love Nada Surf.
I don't even like Bob Dylan, but this is a very pleasant song.

  Your post made me want to see your ratings.  Always an interesting thing.   What do you have against the number 4?  {#Curtain}

"Plastic Silver Nine Volt Heart"
Is there a boring-er song on the playlist?

Can't agree, but that's what makes it all worthwhile.{#Wink}
Great album, probably their best. Underrated.

It's coming down hard today here in Florida. I know because I stepped in a poodle.

Just very nice.

Not getting this one at all.  Slow, boring, repetitive and sounds exactly like every other alt/indie band from circa 2005.

Really.
This is how wars start. {#Mrgreen}

Where's my gun?
reminds me of the Bowie line: "I'm afraid of Americans"

And the Dylan line "you should be made to wear earphones"

Hah - just reading that sentence put me to sleep.

How boring. How many times can they repeat the same lines with such lackluster without falling asleep? It's like Belle & Sebastian on 'ludes. Ugh...
I like Matthew Caws's voice, but I keep waiting for a Nada Surf song that really inspires. Maybe they're a slow build, like Conor Oberst.

This is an awful dull number, though, after a bunch of other dull numbers. One of RP's doldrum sequences...
I am certain that the photo at the bottom of the album cover is a whole bunch of Dippin' Dots ....

smooth jams

didn't seem to learn anything from Blond on Blonde as far as interesting lyrics go
In my memories Nada Surf sounded way more 'harder', nearly punk-oriented...
hmmm.... blonde on blonde sure googles up some interesting images.
Should have this immediately following Guster, as they are touring together! Well a few songs apart still make for a great set.
God Damn. Love this song.
Isnt't there a song from Madrugada that sounds exactly like this?
Kinda repetetetetetetetetive. Not terrible, but so very very bland.

This isn't awful, but why listen to a medicore song about Blonde on Blonde when we could be listening to Blonde on Blonde?
Or maybe even watching some blonde-on-blonde action!
decent ... not great, but not un-listenable either.

I'm with Rascal, I like the mood these kinds of songs create. Call me sensitive.

Forget bird-flu, cholera, the plague...the biggest threat to music-loving humanity is the dreaded Coldplay Virus that seems to be striking more and more bands. Quarantine, quick!
i really love the vocal harmonies on the chorus later in the song.
... It's a lullaby ... ... Whadya expect? ... It's purrfect ...
er, um...uh-uh.

Geez, again in the minority... I found this totally and completely annoying. It adds new depth to the word "repetitious". Not only depth, come to think of it, but glitter, neon arrows and a double underline.
hmmm, very nice.. :sunny.gif:

Perfect placement in what, I must say again, is just an excellent set of music going all the way back to "Razor Love" from Neil Young.
Neil Young did Razor Love cause he is a cutter Put the razor down Neil !!!! The razor and the damage done
Outstanding! I love this version of the song.
I think this song and the album is lovely, with the exception of a couple so-so songs.
this is such a great song. lets hear it more frequently - we can knock some of the really high rotation bands down to size in order to make room, right?
What a great song...perfect mood music for me right now :D

This is a great song from an unexpectedly amazing album.

boring
Never mind... forgot what I was going to say
Is it just my stream, or does this song have numerous blips and chirps. Aside from that, I can\'t seem to find a \"zzzz\" face. Oh well.
