...le le la lo la le...
Ven, Ven
Ven, Ven
Ven, Vente a gozar

Ven, Ven
Ven, Ven
Ven, Vente a bailar

Nuestra persistencia y nuestra alegría
Identifican nuestra raza, latina.
Hemos salido de nuestra tierra
Huyendo de los problemas
Corriendo de las balas
Buscando mirar una oportunidad
Para mejorar

Paz, Paz, Paz pide la gente
Paz, Paz, Paz pide la mente
Las escopetas...
Paz, Paz, Paz pide la gente
Paz, Paz, Paz pide la mente
Las escopetas también dicen

Y la violencia trae la violencia
La corrupción la destrucción
¿Honestidad donde te has ido?
Que no te encuentro ya...

...le le la lo la le...
Ven, Ven
Ven, Ven
Ven, Vente a gozar

Ven, Ven
Ven, Ven
Ven, Vente a bailar

Great Choice!  FLAC is the BEST!  Thanx RP!

2004? I think you will find I have been here before that! I found RP just after iTunes was launched early 2001 and not long after RP started broadcasting. At that time you only listened and there were no registered members, but the format was much the same.

There were very few online radio shows at that time, but even then RP was head and shoulders above anything else out there. It is truly amazing to have witnessed the development of this site and while I do go off from time to time to listen to other places, I still get drawn back here because of the sheer quality.

Yay!

Well said, Poacher/Squiddly. My story's much the same, having found RP via iTunes, and it's been an education to follow Bill & Becky while RP's evolved.
Cántalo Ruben!!!

This sounds too much like Hugo Chavez for my taste

Know what you mean. I used to listen to Oscar de León and Hector Lavoe on the Tube during my London years, so I now have this weird association in my mind: whenever I listen to Fania or old salas maestros I don´t see images of Puerto Rico or New York, but of gritty London tube stations. But you are spot on with your last observation.
Stay thirsty, my friends!

Good song. The remix of this song off of Babylon Rewound is really good. Thanks to Radio Paradise for introducing me to this group!

No the questionis why isn't there any songs by Ruben Blades???
I agree!! Anything by Blades would be nice. In particular, tracks from Tiempos and Mundo, which could probably be categorized (categories suck!) more as "world" music rather than salsa, would be fitting with the general feel here at RP.
yiyiyiyi let's salsa!

Si :nodhead:
Agree with poacher and would add Shaolin Satellite and The Oscillator If ya give Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi a listen it is fantastic As far as stuff along this line, how come only one Fila Brazilla, especially Brazilification given Bill's seemingly love for covers and remixes...that one is just superb..

Ahhhh...... Thieving my soul. This album comes in a close second to Morcheeba: Big Calm. All their other albums are great too. But if you were just starting to listen to them, I would probably go with this one (Richest Man In Babylon). Saw them here in Austin at Stubbs last Wed. It was the most incredible show I think I have seen to date.
Mmm I would like to dance to this. What kind of dance would it be? Meringue? Samba?
