I read you,
And god I'm good at it, I'm so spot on,
Chord shapes in air,
Go press that dissonance, if you dare,
And you breathin' in,
Finesse an innocent, from her partying.

And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
'Cause I love you, no?
Can't help but love, you know.

What part of no,
Don't you understand? I've told you before,
So just get off my case,
This isn't happening, stop this now,
And I, where was I?
I have to be somewhere,
Now where did I put it?

And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
'Cause I love you, no?
Can't help but love, you know.

Is this it? Is it?
Is this it? Yeah,
Is it? No,
Is this it? No,
Is this it? No,
Is this it? No,
Is this it? Yes,
Hello we're back,
And we're taking calls,
Now what was the question?

And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling,
And I'm high enough from all the waiting,
To ride a wave on your inhaling.
'Cause I love you, no?
Can't help but love, you know,
'Cause I love you, no?
Can't help but love, you know,
'Cause I love you, no?
Can't help but love, you know.

Great sound. I saw her In London's Shepherds Bush Empire back about 15(!) years ago! She was solo and did a great show as a electronic multi instrumental artist. Everything she did on stage was improvised and sounded really fantastic. She messed up once but just laughed it off.
Love the production of this track. Listen with headphones or with good speakers.
Still a solid 8.

Can attest to the improved working conditions at home.

I'd love to see her live. That link is dead, BTW. :(

My first thought was Imogene Heap.

The Train song Drops Of Jupiter has a line that I swear says, "Van Halen is overrated." I can buy that.

I actually thought she sounded like Tennis, but yes, I can hear a similarity to Dido too.

I love it, her breathy style & love-ridden lyrics, and wow, I have always felt that way when this amazing gal sings. She's so cool she's hot.

What part of 'no' don't you understand?

I have this song in a DJ collection, a bit less instruments, but this one sounds great!
I really love this pop song. I had this blasting in my convertible last Summer, going up Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. It was "a moment".  {#Wink}

I'll bet this artist has at least 6 cats. I'll bet this artist eats Brie. I'll bet this artist really enjoys her own reflection. Nice tune.
I didnt know that Heap was the lead singer.  No wonder I like the sound, I love her voice!

When she says "Yes...", such a well controlled tension in a song that, if you listened to it superfically, you might think it plodded.

"ride a wave on urinating"

to my feeling :)
To ride away on your Van Halen?
Love Imogen Heap (solo). Was aware of her prior involvement with Frou Frou ..... but not heard before.
I think I can feel album purchase coming on!!
You live in NC and heard this on the radio? I haven't listened to the radio in years but couldn't imagine any of the shite stations around here (Raleigh/Durham area) even playing something like this.

With that said, I bought this CD, was a bit disappointed

Much better than plain old Imogen Heap.

SOLD! (putting on my coat to go buy this...actually...going to the affiliates page and clicking Amazon)

I feel as if I had this song on repeat it would take me hours to even realize it. Rather than getting sick of it, I find myself liking it more every time I hear it.

Very interesting piece. Great bass sound, tasty indeed! I hope to be corrected, but from vague memory, Van Halen was a surfboard manufacturer in the 70's, either in Hawaii or SoCal.

Man, I just love this song. I was really worried that the poppiness of this album (and her latest solo joint) would wear off on me, but they surely haven't. In fact, I love this album and the solo action even more now.

I dunno... I'd have to go with Hear Me Out. Wicked rifts. Flicks is second up, though. timandjuliet wrote:

That's a tall order of the cult of personality. By invitation only. BTW, she must have something going for her to be singing lead on Jeff Beck's recent album.

I have one criteria when listening to a song...Will I miss it when I turn a power tool on...
Wow, this sucks and blows at the same time.
Sounds like Dido
i looove this song. i know i really like a song, when i can't identify it from the title when it comes on, but, i'm like, hmmm this sounds like the one rp plays which goes like "da Dah da Dah da Daaaah da Dah dah..." or whatever. i really hope it's that one. and then it turns out to be. 8. up to a 9. damn i love this song.

When did Dido join a band? Oh well, still kicks ass. The rest of the album sort of drifts off and goes much more Didoish. But this song is good.
Hey, that sounds like simon gallup (the Cure) on bass. This is definitely a solid CD. This one and 'Hear Me Out' are favorites. And it's: "to ride a wave on your inhaling" don't worry, I originally thought it was "ride away while your in heaven" then I saw the lyrics.
When I first heard this song on the CD I could swear she was saying, "I'm so spra-vone," when in fact she's saying, "I'm so spot on." Very amusing to me, and my wife now tells me that I'm so spra-vone. I love this song, and the rest of the disc.
wow, 203 ratings for such a recent song, and still a 7.1 Survey says: YES! edit - whoops - recent for me, I only heard it here on RP, came out in 2002...
Still love this song.

Yeah, I totally agree. And I hate the way Yes sounds so much like Loverboy, and sour milk tastes exactly the same as regular milk. This song is gorgeous.

mmm. maybe a little fluffy and I wouldn't want a whole album of similar songs, but who cares? =)
This hasn't been played in a long time, 11 months... I think it's due for a replay

Kick Billy Corgan in the jimmy and he'd sound like Imogen. She's much prettier than he is though.

Okay -I know the song, but either this is a cover or they have a different, much faster mix. I've danced to it, and the tempo was much more...disco-y.
