The fox went out on a chilly night
He prayed for the moon to give him light
For he'd many a mile to go that night
Before he reached the town-o, town-o, town-o
He'd many a mile to go that night before he reached the town-o

He ran till he came to the farmers pen
The ducks and the geese were kept therein
He said: a couple of you are gonna grease my chin
Before I leave this town-o, town-o, town-o
A couple of you are going to grease my chin before I leave this town-o

He grabbed the great goose by the neck
He threw a duck across his back
And he didn't mind the quack-quack
And the legs all danglin' down-o, down-o, down-o
He didn't mind the quack-quack
And the legs all danglin' down-o

Well the old grey women jumped out of bed
Out of the window she popped her head
Cryin': John, John, the great goose is gone
The fox is on the town-o, town-o, town-0
John, John the great goose is gone and the fox is on the town-o

He ran till he came to his nice warm den
And there were the little ones eight, nine, ten
Sayin' daddy, daddy, better go back again
It must be a mighty fine town-o, town-o, town-o
Daddy, daddy, go back again for it must be a mighty fine town-o

The fox and his wife, without any strife
They cut up the goose with a fork and a knife
And they never had such a supper in their life
And the little ones chewed on the bones-o, bones-o, bones-o
They never had such a supper in their life
And the little ones chewed on the bones

I saw them both times on Austin City Limits - they were much more "alternative", it seemed to me, the second time. Maybe they were a little intimidated the first time? Both performances were terrific. In any case, during the first appearance they played this song, and Chris dropped the first verse of "Subterranean Homesick Blues" into the middle of it, and it was great! I keep hoping someone has a recording of that they're uploading to RP so I can hear it again... <-o<

Thats where I saw them. I'm not a fan of country as a rule... but this is great.
One of my favorite bands... I had the opportunity to see them at a small venue here in Atlanta. One of the best concerts I\'ve been to. I agree with the other poster... they are still refreshingly humble too. Keep your eye on these guys... They are so young, it will be amazing to see what they are producing in a few years. Also, they certainly run the gamut of genres. I\'ve heard them on country stations, rock stations, bluegrass shows, jazz stations, christian stations, and now radioparadise! Keep up the good work RP! :)

Have to think it was Austin City Limits on PBS. Worth catching when it comes around again. They're just so smart, and confident, and young, and humble (as we all were once, yes? )
This group is awesome. I saw them on TV. Can\'t remember what show.
