You are talking apples and oranges. I agree that Keb doesn't do the "English Folkie" thing as well as Thompson, but why should he? Keb is a bluesman, which Thompson is not, and when it comes to heartfelt blues Keb has Delta mud up to his neck whereas Thompson is prancing around in a silk Carnaby Street puffy-shirt. Keb is a fresh new talent in the blues, a revered musical form which is losing its aging leaders in bushels. Plus, Keb has very thoughtful lyrics, if you care to listen. (to wit, in the current song, "everyone likes a party, but no one wants to clean.") Other than that, you're entitled to your opinion I guess. <-X

Saw him play at the Botanical Gardens. Just him and his guitar, no band. Very intimate show. Loved all of his songs reduced to the simplest elements.
