Nine planets around the sun
Only one does the sun embrace
Upon this watered one
So much we take for granted
So let us sleep outside tonight
Lay down in our mother's arms
For here we can rest safely

If green should turn to grey
Would our hearts still bloody beat
And if the mountains crumble away
Rivers dry Would it stop the stepping feet

Oh let us sleep outside tonight
Lay down in our mother's arms
For here we can rest safely

Take all that we can get
When it's done
Nobody left to bury here
Nobody left to dig the holes
And here we can rest safely

One sweet world
Around this star is spinning
One sweet world
And in her breath I'm swimming
And here I will rest in peace

So let us sleep outside tonight
Lay down in our mothers arms
For here we can rest safely

It never ceases to amaze me that people will absolutely refuse to like something just because it's somewhat popular. Personally, I think Dave Matthews has done a lot to broaden the horizons of so-called "radio ready" music. 98% of my 3000+ CD collection is stuff you won't hear on any FM broadcast station, yet I still have every DMB album. Disliking something because it gets good airplay is simple snobbery. Next you'll be trying to convince me that records sound better than CDs.... oh wait, we've been down that road too..... sheesh!
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and I ADORE this song.
Back when Dave was Dave and the world was beautiful. He really needs to go back in this direction, IMHO. There was a time when his music would really take you somewhere. \:D/

Totally agree. He's not anywhere near my top ten but he's good no matter where or how often he gets played. It's like the crowd who always say about just about any artist they like " Oh I like there older stuff " i.e. when they had to be really cool just to have heard of them.

Just saw DMB again at the new Home Depot Center-the first concert for this new venue. Hmmm. I LIKE DMB, and have seen them before in 1995, but overall I was somewhat disappointed. All I can say is, they should have worked on the sound a bit more. (Actually, this probably wasn\'t the band\'s fault, but rather the venue and the fact that it was an outdoor stadium show...) Overall it was a pretty expensive night of watching DMB videos with bad sound...
The Muppet strikes again. Please no more!
Much better than the usual DMB. But slightly better crap is still crap. Someone please wish it into the cornfield.
