Do i look like a liar
Do i look like a liar to you
Fighting crime in this time brings a girl down
Makes a body sink so low
And i sink pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep
I sink pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep
I wish i carried a camera
I'd have proof that you're never where you say
I wish i could fly up in a helicopter
I'd shine a blinding light on your escape
Better to show you
That i'll sink pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep
I'll sink pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep
Do i look like a crier
Do i look like a cry baby to you
Fighting fire in this town wears a man out
Makes a body break so slow
Remember when we all went out to fire island
You thought you saw a body on the beach
When we got closer it was just a tire
And you were disappointed i could see
So i pretended
And now i'm in pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep
I'm in pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep
Everything i ever learned is wrong so long so what
Pretty deep, pretty deep, pretty deep

Solid. Never heard this before, but not surprised it's good given all the great projects she's done. Nice discovery here on RP!
Love Tanya Donnelly (esp when Belly was at its peak). Never heard this song before now! But recognized Tanya's voice instantly. Love her trademark mix of sweet & sour, smooth & rough in her songs.

(EDIT: Well shit, I just accidentally liked my own comment and I can't undo it. No biggie, but I just hate when other people do that. )
just amazing,

Love the voice and the music.
Yeah the lyrics are kinda lightweight... so what?
Overall, you can dance to it. AND it's got a great beat.
This is the type of trash i come to radio paradise to avoid. 2 thumbs down :(

okay, so this is the same girl from Belly? Sounds just like her, decent light fare I think, nothing crazy good but not bad either. Is s'okay!

...and throwing muses, too...
I'm a sucker for a lovely voice like hers.  8

Really?
I like it.

Oh well.
I might be your description of this song.

Tanya's getting a lot of coverage this morning.  (Well, ok, two songs, including the song by Belly earlier), but considering the number of artists played here, two seems like a lot.
Just kinda so-so
The chorus repetition of "Pretty Deep" is pretty deeply offensive. {#Wall}
What's not to like. Love Tanya {#Tongue}

Love Tanya's work as the driving force behind "Belly" and "The Breeders". This album doesn't do it for me.

Oh dont forget Throwing Muses!

Emotion, a beat, musicianship, elements so lacking in lots of modern music.
And that being perfectly illustrated by The New Pornographers, which followed this outstanding track today.
Always love to hear vocals and guitar melody sung and played together. George Benson was the first I ever heard do it, This Masquerade? But nice anytime. Good song. Emotion, a beat, musicianship, elements so lacking in lots of modern music.
Wonderful album, one or two really strong tunes in there.
haha, oops, I wasn't really listening at work and thought she was singing some infatuation song about "Billy Dee" williams... there would be a winner right?
Just can't fault Tanya.

Tasty. Rocks Hard.
Did Belly come before or after this? I loved the two albums that belley did.
Always great to hear Tanya's voice
Oh hell yes!
This is one of my favorite songs from a pretty good album (CD to you youngsters). TD is too cool!

Can one blame someone else for sounding like him/herself? Obviously one can! I know what you mean. Just like Mick Jagger often sounds like a persiflage of his old self.
The hook in this song sounds so much like something Alanis Morissette would do. But pretty catchy.

A nice tune. Slightly off topic, but it was Kristin Hersh's birthday yesterday. Think we could put in something of hers? :)
