It's her.  I bought this album on the strength of this song.  There wasn't anything nearly this catchy on it.  I only sort of remember enjoying it, and I haven't played it since, so I guess that says something.  Maybe I should give it another chance.

Or just accept that Bill's superpower is picking the one really good song off an album of otherwise mediocre offerings.
Nice vocals, but sounds like she "borrowed" her opening guitar riffs right from "Little Pink Houses" by Mellencamp
I really love Cindy Bullens' music. She's got incredible control of her voice , so she can kick out the jams when it's warranted, but she's not a showoff (Mariah Carey.)  I love how she can sing a subdued song like this without divulging what an amazing vocal range she has.

This is a good, good song.  {#Sunny}

Only in Pittsburgh!!!!

Sure she doesn't do a lot of rock climbing! I hate falling.

It's funny that a couple people mentioned the song creeping up on them. I wasn't sure about her voice and the song at first but by the middle of the tune I really started liking it, and by the end I was hooked. I guess it crept up on me too! :)
My feelings exactly about this song.

Pleasant.
Saw Cindy perform in the late 70's.....she put on a very energetic show. Lots o' fun.
Tom Petty's Daughter ?

I don't want to sound rude... but is this a guy or a girl?
I do like falling, it's the landing that can be a little tough. I do like this song. :sunny.gif:

Dig. Most Excellent. The Mellencamp thing doesn't bother me - peeps been stealing Keef Richards for years and years... :-)

Cindy Bullens was great in the late 70's when I first discovered her...Desire Wire.etc. I just found this site and my life has changed. If anyone is from San Francisco in the 70's you remember KSAN. KSAN was without a doubt the BEST radio station EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I have RP and I'm just as happy.....now how do I get this in my car? BR

Well, ain't that America! At least we can all make these comments, that is. Similar or not, I like this song.
really, really fine!
Over the last year, I have grown to really like this tune. Let's hear more from Cindy.
Ahhhh Cindy "Steal the Night" Bullens. Thanks for some great tunes. Hope you're a regular listener to RP!
A beautiful song. I really like the slow build-up.

That is exactly what I thought. "oh here is an acoustice version of 'little pink houses' I wonder how it is". It really is a rip-off.
It's a ripoff because of 4 common chords it shares with the Mellencamp song? C'mon, that's silly. The rest of the song is as unique as any music can be. It's not like an artist (musician or otherwise) can come up with something that has not been a derivative of other artists' work.
ha - i came to add a 'hey this isn't pink houses' comment but it seems we are all thinking that... bummer, i was ready for it.
i definitely dig the tune, but i've got to admit to being a little disappointed each time i realize that i'm not about to hear some Mellencamp.

I'm not liking the music too much, but the lyrics are simple and smart. And I can identify with them.
pretty cool, sounded like Robin Zander from Cheap Trick.
Great song and she listens to RP... does it get any better? ;)

It must be that special slow-acting time-release hook. I liked falling in love with this song.

Good song. Cindy does sound a bit like Cristine McVee at times, though, on this. (Not a bad thing.)
Yeah, except Cindy has BALLS. I hear more Melissa Etheridge here, personally. Good stuff!
I like this somehow.
Cindy takes her time with this.

Brings back memories for me too, specifically Grease - she did a few songs on the soundtrack. Have loved her ever since.
nice set ... Colvin, BF and Bullens !*!*!* (although I could do without the \"Whiney Ladies\" !*!*)
This set has gotten worse.

Damn! Good stuff.
The opening guitar sounds like Mellencamp\'s Pink Houses to me. I dig this song.
By the way, virtually this entire CD is a reall ass-kicker, one of the best of 2002. A real surprise.

Yes for some reason it did for me too. I kinda like it now - 6-rating and climbing. Does anyone else hear Cowboy Junkies in this song? Sounds very much inspired by them.
Beautiful - and it rocks too!

This is very nice! Great music. Who did Cindy Bullens used to sing with? I\'m getting too old to remember.
Some of the guitar work sound s like \"Wish you were here\" by Pfloyd. I think that is what got my attention.

That was great
Wonderful jam. Sneaked up on me slowly as I worked along. Want/Need to hear it again!
