It's a sold life
Sunrise on the back of an old life
Borrowed the style if the time's right
Cut all the ties in foresight
You're only slaving in your own mind

But still life makes your heart

It's a cold life
Died in the back of a landslide
Caught in the web swallowed your pride
If you're not certain then don't dive
The corner of your eyes the sunrise

I've lost more inside than the spirit that's died yeah
In my state of mind what I've got to decide
Here on in

Controlled types
Types that lay back and pay no mind
Constantly burning their own kind
It means more to me than to stay and fight
I've lost more like that than I care to right

I've lost more inside than the spirit that's died yeah
In my state of mind what I've got to decide
Here on in

I've lost more inside than the spirit that's died yeah
In my state of mind what I've got to rely on
I've lost more inside than the spirit that's died yeah
In my state of mind what I've got to rely on

I've lost more inside than the spirit that's died yeah
In my state of mind what I've got to rely on
I've lost more inside than the spirit that's died yeah
In my state of mind what I've got to decide
Here on in

Anyone else hear echoes of Oasis here?
Diggin down through the posts to find this one. Yeah, Oasis. That being said, this song ain't all too good.
Sounded like a poor mash-up... 2 songs playing at the same time. I actually needed to hit mute. WTF was that, anyway?
Is "South" an abbreviation of "Sonic Youth"? ;^P
Are we having a husky voice competition - Is it just me but haven't the last few singers all sounded the same!

I guess this is what the word Derivative springs from. Not stirring enough for me though, the string section and his plaintive note grates a bit imo.
moody blues, flaming lips, genesis, calexico, oasis, coldplay, u2,etc....... you are probably all right. sure is an enjoyable song on its own though.
apparently this band sounds like everyone else ... i hear The Flaming Lips in his voice and in the guitar. i like.
this song reminds me of someone. sometimes that stinks. Good tune nonetheless
The first comment is from 5 years ago. It is great to play relatively unknown bands and see if their music catches on with the RP audience, but this one didn't... Low ratings, not much interest in the comments, so why are we still playing this? Substitute something we like more or something new and different e.g. normal RP fare.

Moody Blues, maybe with the background sound, but you would have to take a lot out of this to sound like the Moody Blues. Love the Moody Blues, this is okay.

The very first moments of this song totally make me think "Moody Blues"... love those old analog moog synth strings!

lily34 first turned me on to this band. I have liked pretty much everything I have heard from South. Thanks again lily for opening my mind to new music.
Why don't you two kids get a room?
after the first few notes I thought we were in for some Calexico.

I thought it was the mancunian mop tops!
It's another song: "All in for nothing". But anyway, nice to hear.

Yup. Maybe they want to be Oasis when they grow up.
Not unlike U2 Boy as well, particularly the guitar
There is Coldplay in the air.

Reminds me a lot of the Alarm. Nice sound.
anything with Mellotron gets an automatic 8 from me... way cool
i bought this album because of RP, and I was not dissapointed. What a slick beat!

Diablo is the only game I have ever played on a frequent basis! Your observation is good.
