We may still have time, we might still get by
Every time I think about it, I want to cry
With bombs and the devil and the kids keep coming
Nowhere to breathe easy, no time to be young

But I tell myself that I was doing alright
There's nothing left to do tonight

But go crazy on you
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, ohh

My love is the evening breeze touching your skin
The gentle, sweet singing of leaves in the wind
The whisper that calls after you in the night
And kisses your ear in the early moonlight

And you don't need to wonder, you're doing fine
My love, the pleasure's mine

Let me go crazy on you
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, ohh

Wild man's world is crying in pain
What you gonna do when everybody's insane?
So afraid of one who's so afraid of you
What you gonna do?

Aah, ooh, crazy on you
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you

I was a willow last night in a dream
I bent down over a clear running stream
I sang you the song that I heard up above
And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love

Crazy, yeah
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, ohh

Crazy on you
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, yeah

Aah
Crazy on you
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, ohh

She gives Robert Plant a run for his money on Heart's tribute version of "Stairway to Heaven."

I never much liked Magic Man. But can we agree on Barracuda? That's the one for me.

Oh, Crazy on You is an 8 for me, almost 9.

I'm Crazy on YOU, Ann and Nancy!  My first cassette tape...great memories.
This song always annoyed me. Not sure why.
Clicked on Amazon CD, bought it... thanks for the reminder.
The songs also seem to be arranged in a play list (or order) which eases one's transition from song to song, with intent by the DJ

This was never one of my favorite Heart tunes. Dog and Butterfly forever!
Some of my favorite song lyrics:

"I was a willow last night in a dream
I bent down over a clear running stream
I sang you the song that I heard up above
And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love"

If you get past the pop stigma, this is a really great, complex performance.
My first cassette tape...wow, I'm old.  I still love it! (The song, not being old).
I know this song was overplayed...But to fully appreciate Heart (and the 70's in general), please stop and think of any contemporary band that has produced any epic powerful song even close this in the recent past.

I wouldn't say it's "bad" for you to admit that, but it seems odd.  This song got a great deal of radio play in the late '70s and early ' 80s so it's surprising you were not familiar with it.  Is it bad to admit I don't know Eminem's connection to this song?

Same here. I couldn't stand this song for what, 43 years, and now it's my new favorite? That's totally f-ed up. And shows you what kinda mad skills RP has.
"watcha gonna do when everyone's insane?" dunno, suggestion?
Not another song that stops me in my tracks. Cmon, man, I got work to do!

Crazy!!
Reminds me of my second year in the dorms at the University of Utah. We had a quad with the three dorm buildings surrounding it. Someone with a butt kicking stereo system would often have this cranked so loud that it sounded like a concert going on.

Context I think. Context may not be everything, but it's critical in any type of communication. It's for example one of several important components that factor into RP's always skillful and often delightful or wondrous segues.

P.S. I believe your question was meant to be rhetorical but it made me think.
great segue into this song!
The musicianship and vocal quality of this band are amazing, no matter how mainstream you think they are.  Thank you Bill for including it with the rest of the eclectic mix of quality music you play.

Yea I gotta agree with this, this song enters into Stairway to Heaven and Freebird territory to be honest.

I can go a while without hearing this again. Ditto most of Fleetwood Mac's work from late 70's on. Not that it's not good, but I've heard and heard it and heard it some more, out of all proportion to my interest. Yes, this is my opinion. Everyone else should enjoy to their heart's content.

Steely_D speaks the truth!  Long Live RP!!  This one's a 9 for me, nearly a 10, just a bit crowded up there for me (though that goes with what you said about RP, a lot of what BnR play ARE 8s, 9s and 10s!  Long Live RP again!!
Is it bad to admit I only know this cos of Eminem?
When I hear this I am instantly 16 or so again. I saw Heart at the 1979 Edmonton Rock Cirkus, many, many moons ago...
In 1981-82 I worked at an audiophile/record store in Edson, Alberta for a year before going to university. This is one of the songs I would use to demo high-quality audio systems. I remember it sounding particularly great on a pair of Klipsch corner horns.
7 > 8

I guess it just sounded too good this morning to leave it at 7.
For those of us not based in the US, this wasn't played to death (at least as far as I can recall, I only vaguely recognise it) - so it's good to hear what people seem to regard as a bit of classic.  It's not to the level of Stairway or Freebird etc, but it's pretty good.

play some deep tracks off this album that you never hear on FM.. {#Mrgreen}
The Canadian version of Stairway to Heaven under CAN CON rules.  Still played to death on classic rock stations up here probably (I would not know because I don't listen the Q1XX anymore.)

But actually not a bad tune it it's day.  Recorded in Vancouver B.C. on the Mushroom label if memory serves me right?

I know this is overplayed but it will always take me back to the Boston Hatch Shell free concert in April, 1977. Love it.

If I want to hear Heart, I'll tune in to a syndicated classic rock station.

Because on terrestrial radio, the next song will be either "Breakfast in America" or "Hot Blooded", and who TF wants stick around for that?

I thought the same thing.

Why is it when I hear this it reminds me of "Mystery To Me" era Fleetwood Mac?
Is it Bob Welch's guitar?

So many questions. {#Cheesygrin}
A Great Album
a quality pop song, both in terms of composition and musicianship, wish contemporary pop music would have such a high musical standard.

Context. FM radio played these songs to death.
A great AOR roller coaster ride. Never owned it and wouldn't but nice to hear.

Heart's first two albums were indeed inspired, heard it a million times, could hear it a million more.
All I can hear now is Weird Al's version "Gonna Pour GrAAAAvy on You"...

Good stuff. Thanks for playing.

This song has not been played here in about 134 months, yet I've probably heard it about 134 times since it was last played here without really trying to hear it all.

Thanks for the alternative, RP.  And a big "no thanks" to classic rock radio...you sure do know how to wear out songs.

I remember when this album was first released and played in Seattle—I was listening at 11:30 at night, when I was supposed to be asleep, with my transistor radio under the pillow. I think it was KOL playing it, and they played the whole album start to finish. I thought it was the best thing I'd ever heard.

I still love the whole album.
This song is great! As an implement of torture or interrogation, that is. "Tell us who hired you or we shall play it again!"
Pee-yew. Damn, does this song blow. Doesn't really fit the radioparadise style.
God I HATE this Group!!! Two Broads wailing Crap!! :P :P
ooooh i wish i was in my car so i could wail along...!
Not every song played on FM is bad. This has some great guitar work, nice harmonies, and clean production. Gotta at least respect it. Thanks B&R.
Heart? What the hell? MT :verymad:
Yes - today has been a very frustrating music day, save for one of two songs. What's up Bill? Boom_Air wrote:
What is going on at RP! I keep hearing songs that I thought I would NEVER here on RP. I mean come on, these are songs that every am/fm oldies, and 70/80's stations play. I expect more from PARADISE.
I like this song and I for one appreciate you playing it. A pox on the critics.
IF your creative juices have quit flowing let us know...we can make suggestions...this IS NOT what I tune in for.
Brings back the good memories of the final months of high school and the summer before I entered the USAF. Now those were incredible days and Heart was so hot then!
Let\'s see, great vocals, great guitar, good lyrics... yeah, that\'s reason to hate them!? Great choice Bill! As long as you don\'t overplay it, it\'s a good song!
There sure was a lot of hair in this band, and I\'m not just talking about the girls. I haven\'t heard this one in a while, so I think I like it. What the heck, sure I do. :)
Makes me want to here their more recent project, the Lovemongers and their version of Battle of Evermore.
please, please, please make it stop!!! Heart is one of the most irritating bands ever.
Oh please, play this again! One more time. Over and over and over, like Clearchannel does.
Oh yeah! How about hearing Barracuda? :D

who said anything about the "'70's were great' aspect" and whatever else you are inferring? Judge each song on its own merit, not by the "born on" date. Do you dislike the lyrics? Do you not enjoy the music? Fine. Wonderful. But the idea that the date of a recording should color your perception of the work seems not to really be about the music.

And that's what it is all about, right? "Pretty darn good" music. And then some.
Yikes!!! I never, ever, never, ever, ever, thought I\'d hear this on RP. My only 1 rating goes to this song. I\'ve muted the sound while I write this.

I enjoy the re-classifying of music by putting songs into a different context - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If I heard this on a classic rock station it would just melt into the background but hearing it on RP I find myself enjoying the musicianship of the song. I wouldn't want to hear this song all the time, but it is nice to hear it with fresh ears. Early Heart was pretty darn good. IMHO
Whooo-hooooo! What a man, BG! Only in RADIO PARADISE do you hear such savvy, such cunning skill. Excellent going from "Love Song" from The Cure to "Crazy on You". It worked! And I hear this Heart song in a whole NEW way! That is what great radio is all about. Bravo, Bill! Now, from this, how about spinning "Song 2" from Blur?
Yeah, ok. The song doesn\'t suck, but I\'ve heard it enough times? I dunno, I guess it\'s still better than all the other sucko-barfo crap from the eighties and nineties I\'ve been hearing today (Cure, Pearl Jam, etc.)
What\'s next, Stairway to Heaven?
Ah come on! Heart Rulz! ;-)

Heavy or svelte the Wilson sisters are classy and talented IMHO. A little on the pop side - maybe - but the cream of the crop of pop. I enjoy their voices and yup, I remember being a HS teen in 1978-1980 and thinking they were hot!

One does not retire a classic. It should be remembered that when this song first came out, female rockers, in the mold of Grace Slick, had all but disappeared. Heart opened the door again for the entire raft of female singers and all-female bands from the 80s and 90s that we all listen to on this station and love. Without Heart, would any of those bands have been allowed to sign with major labels? No way of knowing, but they certainly made it easier for them.
no.
overplayed? yes. retire? no.

Good song, but unlike some others, i found them one of the most uninteresting and boring live bands ever. I saw them once in 82 or 83, and was pretty bored, but I do recall a couple of Zepelin Covers that were decent. The next time I saw them was with Kansas (not a good version of Kansas either), and it was even worse. But nobody was worse than the Firm. I actually remember praying for no encores. But God didn\'t answer....or like it. Kevin
Always was one of my fav\'s from the 70\'s. I just wish that commercial radio did not burn it out.
I\'ve always loved this band. Saw them on cable some time ago in a live performance, and they were terrific, with a lot of music I was not familiar with. Do they have any live CDs out?
I love the intro. This song definitely rocks.
Dreamboat Annie and Dog and Butterfly are the best Heart albums IMHO. Heart at their rockin' and poetic lovely best!
Heart rocked for awhile on their first 2 albums. I saw them open for Rod Stewart during the death throes of the Faces. Heart blew them off the stage.
I remember the first time this album ever played on radio in Seattle; it came on at 11:30 PM on one of the FM stations (KOL, probably). I loved it then, and I still love it decades later.
Waaaay too Clear Channel/MOTR/classic rock for my tastes.
Heart Rocks!
