Happiness
More or less
It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
Oh, my, my
Happiness
Coming and going
I watch you look at me
Watch my fever growing
I know just where I am
But how many corners do I have to turn?
How many times do I have to learn
All the love I have is in my mind?

Well, I'm a lucky man
With fire in my hands

Happiness
Something in my own place
I'm standing naked
Smiling, I feel no disgrace
With who I am

Happiness
Coming and going
I watch you look at me
Watch my fever growing
I know just who I am

But how many corners do I have to turn?
How many times do I have to learn
All the love I have is in my mind?

I hope you understand
I hope you understand

Gotta love that'll never die

Happiness
More or less
It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
Happiness
Coming and going
I watch you look at me
Watch my fever growing
I know
Oh, my, my
Oh, my, my
Oh, my, my
Oh, my, my

Gotta love that'll never die
Gotta love that'll never die
No, no
I'm a lucky man

It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
Oh, my, my
Oh, my, my
It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
Oh, my, my
Oh, my, my

YES!
this one and "This Time" are my favs on this album. i have a ton of their cds as well as ashcroft's releases. i just loved this time period of music. it opened my eyes to a lot and i know i'm sentimental about it because of what was happening in my life personally...music really can take you vividly back in time.
Of course I understand mate, you're not exactly Wittgenstein are you. Nice three chords though, why not drone that root note again.

Yeah, don't get it. Arranger did well.
Sold gold classic album - they still had high quality tracks prior to this album though - check out History and Already There 👍
Good Tune!
Still love this song...... in a much different place in my life but still resonates. Thankful for my family!

This was such a great album.
love this one{#Roflol}
One of the best rock stage shows I ever saw was The Verve 'reunion' at Coachella, IIRC 2008-ish... Their musicianship was outstanding, fine tone and great sound. People in the crowd were standing there with tears rolling down their faces, this Bear included. They did  'Lucky Man' and it was so deep and sweet... Quite the band.
Absolutely love this song.  Repetitive at the end but the intro and first 3 minutes or so is fantastic.

Agreed completely, to the point that I only listen to the album in its entirety. I think it's officially in my top 10 now. 👍

What! Is the album really that old? Egads, now I feel old. It still has that new freshness for me, and I suppose it always will.

First time hearing this song. First impression was ho-hum but gradually grew to Most Excellent.

Ah great memories. Not heard this for ages and had kinda forgotten about The Verve. Much underrated and overshadowed by Oasis to my mind

The nasal whiny thing should have been buried with Oasis
Such a wonderful tune and not heard it in a while - amazing band!

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes."  —Charles R. Swindoll

Yes this is absolutely true.   Call it attitude, call it state of mind ..... but it is a choice.   How we react and choose what to focus upon is our choice.   And the better we choose the better we BE.  Try it and see.  And have fun doing it {#Meditate}

I never seem to get tired of hearing this...very nice in every way...
Luv a good Richard Ashcroft rock ballad - strings included. {#Hearteyes}
I have to admit my knowledge of The Verve has pretty much been limited to Bittersweet Symphony.

This is quite nice - a solid 7 - which is good enough.

Brilliant song!  Such a wonderful and under-rated band.
This song makes me feel lucky!
wow, I'm pretty sure this had radio play as that is how I know it.

Why the hell did this not get radio play??  This 10 times that other crummy song!
Wait, sorry forgot.  Only RP plays the good stuff.  Thank you RP, like my Bose headphones you never disappoint

This song was about 10 years ahead of its time.  Awesome!
How weird. I was just thinking of this song yesterday and dreaded digging up the CD from my overstuffed basement. Haven't heard it in over a decade.
I was in the kitchen listening to this song and it just drew me in to the living room to give it a 9 and kick  it up a few notches on the volume.

bumping it, I agree !
This song makes me think of... me.
for some reason I don't like this song - the more I hear it the more I understand it is the vocals... don't like the sound of voice of the singer, it is really annoying.
Nice!!
The "reunion" at Coachella '08 was one of the better rock concerts I ever heard. The Verve's players had matured and broadened therir sensibility far beyond the relatively canned-sounding, highly processed studio stuff, They were very well received.

I love the combo of acoustic, electric and strings. My fave off this album.

And for a little symmetry, Bill played ELP's "Lucky Man" 13 hours ago.

Perfect summer lounging teeune!
Far and away the best song they did. For me anyway.
