Again it's RP which introduces me to a song which has existed for 54 years and which I have not yet heard in the 46 years that I exist.

THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE SONGS that my buddy Mike and I used to like to put on the stereo right after we got home from high school, mid- and late- '70s. We'd be sunk down into the beanbag chairs, staring at black-light posters, stoned as we could be, and loving this surreal jam, unlike anything else by this band... Thanks for this, RP!

One of the great advantages of vinyl is you can mess with the speeds.
Play this song at 45 or better, 78. It sounds like freaky aliens on drugs and you can still make out the lyrics.

Ozzy is actually pretty good when he focuses on the music and not being OZZY. The band actually got good reviews on there last tour.

Wow Bill I thought I was on the wrong station, this is wonderful thank you. Their latest recording "13" with Ozzy has a song that is quite close to this, check it out King of the master mix.

I was in jr high when I got this 8 track. I don't think I was ever the same....
changed from a 2 to a 5 after learning, surprisingly, this was Black Sabbath.

When I bought this album in early 1971 at the tender age of 15, there were stacked piles of the album on store shelves. I listened to it obsessively for almost 3 months and then suddenly stopped. I never played it again and did not bother following Black Sabbath or similar.
This sounds pretty decent. BS had a huge influence. The influence on me was fleeting I suppose....

It doesn't get much better than this.
It's a good song. Prefers the Pantera version though. The lyrics by Anselmo are clearer and not as spaced out as Ozzy's.

I liked Paranoid a lot when I was in high school. Listened to it a lot and I'm amazed this song was on it. I don't remember it at all.

For those of you surprised by this track, I highly recommend you check out Black Sabbath (the 1st album) and listen to Paranoid straight through. There is truly something special about these albums and the breadth of sound and style they convey, while still being distinctly Sabbath.

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure Black Sabbath "Paranoid" came out in 1969. I graduated from High School in 1969 and it was one of my favorite albums.
So unbelievably mellow and heavy all at once.. A bit more of Black Sabbath's lesser-played tunes please!

Is War Pigs the ONLY song you know by Black Sabbath? Trower? Not even close. Try listening to Sabbath's tune, "Fluff". You will be blown away.. You are welcome.
