Feeling the fire under my feet
I was a liar, you were a cheat
Playing with knives we were cut close to home
Close to the bone
Just so alone

Something to have, something to hold
Something to share so I've been told
Deep in your eyes you're one hundred years old
Cause the years have not been kind to you, you know

Heal it up
Heal it up
Heal me up
Heal me up
Heal me up

Feeling the pinch, feeling the hope
Feeling the void deep in my soul
Feeling my feelings so out of control
Cause the years have not been kind to me, I know

Heal it up
Heal it up
Heal it up
Heal it up

The only problem with this song is that you cannot listen to any other female vocalist for at least a week afterwards. Because they will sound like shit in comparison.
wow. didn't know these guys sounded so cool!....
The first riff of this song kinda sounds like that "Can you hear me...." song from the 80s by Mike and the Mechanics

Something strange is happening here! I can't imagine I ever commented that on a song like this. Is there an acoustic version of it that sounds like being recorded in the living room? If not, that earlier made comment ended up at the wrong place.
Hi Johray. Wasn't it "George" in Yellow Submarine who said, "It's all in the mind." ;-) Maybe it was just a "cavernous" living room! On some level your earlier comment makes sense too. In my best "Groucho" voice, I myself would like to join you at that level. 8)
I'm sorry, I know a lot of folks don't like this, but I just think it kicks serious A#*.

This entire album is a classic - thanks!
I agree. This time of year...how about "Ghost of a Texas Ladies Man" and "Bloodletting, the Vampire's Song"?!
Concrete Blonde just played a gig here in St. Louis, I am sorry to say they where "drunkenly" horrible , to the point where I actually left the show! I have never walked out of a concert before in my life!
This entire album is a classic - thanks!
An excellent rocker.
A lot of folks seem to be dissing Concrete Blonde. I kind of agree with some of this criticism, but.... I dare anyone to diss their first two albums: Concrete Blonde and Free. Absolute rock classics. Absolute. I also DARE you to play some of the choice tracks from those two albums, Bill! I don\'t know and can\'t figure out how to upload tracks to you so if you\'d like me to upload some (at 192kbps of course)e-mail me at kkonecko@aol.com I\'d be more than happy to. :D Peace RP and Bill

I'll second that. She is a powerful singer.

Johnette has such an incredible voice. Keep the Concrete Blond coming!
Great track from a great album. If you like this, check out Pretty and Twisted-- the project that Johnette started after Concrete Blonde. It takes the dark, heavy sound from this album even further.

Great number! Johnette N. has one of the best rock voices ever put to tape (IMO, of course!)
