I uploaded it a couple of months ago and it spent a little time on LRC and ended up at 32/9 (78%), but it was rejected. I did try.
OK, This is obviously a great song and Curtis Mayfield is a superb performer and songwriter...BUT, I'm puzzled as to why one might want to hear this version rather than the original version recorded by Curtis when he was with The Impressions in 1964?? Don't know how many people have heard it, but there's an interesting and unique "heavy" arrangement of this song that was recorded by Vanilla Fudge in the late 60's psychedelic era.
No emoticon for swaying with hands in the air, so visualize.
YO! Blessed Curtis doin' it with a fine-feeling lineup.
Sure 'nuff, I believe.
I like pretty much every version of this song I've ever heard.

That must be the song I am thinking of when I heard the melody. I also thought of Waiting for the world to change by john mayer. I also thought of one love by marley because of the words. This is a good song....
Pretty sure that Curtis preceded them all

Imagine Curtis and Marvin (RIP) doing a duet.

I've waited for this moment! I've loved my man since I was a kid. I never had the opportunity to experience him live but I kept him in my heart anyhow. He influenced too many to list. God rest your mighty soul Curtis...
This is a great gospel song
A lot of heart and soul, indeed. Great stuff.
very smooth tune, lotsa heart
people, the '71 live album is outstanding.
Cool song, just starting the day (UK)
I heard this song for the first time when I was 15, listening live bootlegs of U2, in 1987 they used to play this song during their american branch of joshua tree tour....
so, so, SOULFULL - thanks for playing this one RP
wow, this is a nice tune
Thank you for playing Curtis, especially this song. He was a unique talent, full of wisdom and compassion. This world is a little darker and colder without him.
I can never hear too much Curtis
This track was plucked from his Live at the Bitter End album...which just so happens to be one of the coolest live albums around. A must have for Curtis fans.
I try to ignore the "one'ers" but geeeez, a ONE.
smoooooooth
Thought I'd mention that Bob Marley combined this with his own "One Love" to great effect.

Yes, this is real soul - we thought Curtis Mayfield was a god down in Chattanooga where I'm from- where can we hear music like this now?
