Second best cover ever, only after ... OMG, THE GOURDS, YOU'RE PLAYING IT!
STOP IT! Just stop it.
All right Bill you've delivered two stink bombs in a row. Give us something good.
Maybe if this was added into the stand by while I take my last breath song it would be the last thing I ever heard....I'll be back in a few, need to get some fresh air. listen to some traffic something!!

Stop it! Just say "No" to C&W!
I give it a 4, but well, thanks for the fun, Bill! :D
Please, please play Hayseed Dixie after this!
everyone at work was lookin at me funny when i burst out laughing
hahahahahha
Oh, why, why, why, why, WHY?
After that last song anything rates a 7. And this is pretty funny!

Obviously, most listeners disagree (what is the RP world record in bad votes?)
This one's a long way off it.. The record holder is... https://www.radioparadise.com/content.php?name=songinfo&song_id=34873
I gave it a 2 (+1 just for the sake of diversity).
EXCELLENT!!! I liked M's, too, but this is right-and-proper hip-slappin' blue-grass. Ok, now back to the even better stuff with, the man himself, SRV!

This is hilarious! Although... the joke's getting a bit old now.

Jesus! whats with all these country covers? My thigh is going to be well sore by the end of the day!
Ohhh... bad. Very bad. Ouch.
wow. wonder what M thinks of it. I would guess she was amused. I certainly am! Love the amenable nature of folk music and how it makes something sound so different.
For the first time, while listening to this station, I actually had to turn the volume all the way down for this one. Yikes.
I hope to never hear this song again.
This is whacked! It makes Madonnna sound wonderful! Please, no more!!!!!

:-s It's fun when Bill thwacks the beehive and gets people riled up with stuff like this.

Obviously you didn't see the reaction when Bill actually played the real thing...

I'm not Bill, but I think I know why. I never heard this before today, and I just started cracking up as I slowly realized which tune this was. I don't need to hear this every week, but I'm glad I heard it today. Since it is only rating a 4.1, it would have been long gone if RP were a strict democracy, but it's actually a benevolent dictatorship. Long live the king!
Much prefer the original, this is just too much!
"A Mighty Wind" never even got this silly.
Hey folks it's WAY better than the original!!! (...which wouldn't be hard, admittedly) Giving it 6.

Agreed.
OK, now can we hear the country version of "Gin and Juice" again?
4.1 Terri Scheivo didn't suffer this long. Pull. The. Plug.
Once again make it stop aaarrrggghhhhhhhhhh
What on earth did I do to deserve this? Please tell me and I'll P R O M I S E NEVER to do it again if it means I never have to hear this song again!
OMFG !!!! I think I just saw the four horsemen. I'm going to pull over before rapture takes me and my car crashes because I'm no longer driving it.
I logged in so I could comment on how this is wrong on so many levels...and just scrolled down to see I already made that comment!! This sounds like a Weird Al Yankovic rendition of Closer to God I might have to upgrade it from a 1 to a 2, just for the entertainment value...

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww! Well I just got into town today To find my girl who's gone away She took the greyhound at the general store I searched myself I searched the town When I finally did sit down I find myself no wiser than before Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwww!
usually it's not that bad if an artist can't make a cover better than the original, but when the original is madonna you must really suck if your cover is worse. 1

Agreed... this is just horrible.
What possessed someone to remake this?

Alright....who gave this a 10?! C'mon fess up
I hear her voice, feels like puking.
WTF? Is this a test to see if we are all awake? Send this to the recycling bin and delete, please.
hearing that, sandwhiched between Joey Ramone "What a Beautiful World" and Johnny Cash "Personal Jesus" made this a wonderful, wonderful day. Then again, I acutally like bluegrass. -Daiv

I'd like to think this was just comic relief, but I'm almost afraid they're seriously into the message here. This flat out sucks!
Avatard wrote:
Why, Bill, why??
Indeed, Bill. Please explain yourself. I can't rate this until I know your intent.
I can't decide if I hate this or love it. Seriously. I went thru my Madonna phase, don't laugh.. I still have the Time magazine from 1986 when she landed on the cover. I was young... now that I'm older I should know better...
heaven help me too! i dont wanna ever hear this song again.
Awesome, my smile grows a little bigger with each twang. Bill, don't listent to these guys. We need a little fun!

this song has certainly generated many comical posts. (laughing)
Well I have to admit I was a little shocked to hear Dolly Parton's cover of Collective Souls "Shine" on RP, but that was surprisingly good. This would be the opposite... /looking for Q-Tips to clean my ears...
Was this REALLY necessary?
This is wrong on so many levels that I can't even begin to express it. Don't give out too many 1's, but here we go......
Better than the original, so it gets a 1. Can you see these guys sitting in a booth at the Black Gold Saloon saying to one another, "You know what'd be a good song to cover in a bluegrass style? Maybe sumpin by Madonna." The rest nod knowingly. Meanwhile, the waitress rolls her eyes, as do I.
I can ONLY handle this after hearing the Gourds with their version of Snoop Dogg's "Gin & Juice." So, now you have to ask yourself, is this a parody or a serious cover???
Love it!
This is so funny. I couldn't stand the original, but this I kind of like. A 5 from me.
OMG, this is fun! (Bill--is this to make up for the fact that the original is also on your playlist?)
Mockery of the South. Terrible

Oh man, this is great. Better than the original.
Oh please make it stop. :P
funny, but it's not my thing.
Eeeewww! I didn't recognize it as HER! Eeeewww! A 2... Eeeewww!

ahhhh!! not that I'm a Madonna fan, but this is just wrong. Why must people make a not so great song even worse?
yyyyup, reckon that's a nope.
Nifty country-version....where's my cowboy-hat? LOL.
like the original, only minus all of the weighty religious overtones.
Better than the original.
Best song ever!!!
YEEE HAAWWW... the video with crosses buning etc...would be hilarious with this version.
OHHHH MYYYYYY GODDDDD
This will go great with my halloween costume...Trailer Trash!
I went to rate the song, but apparently I already gave it a 1. Why would it get played again? I must've blacked out the first time. This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard since Hayseed Dixie put out a full CD of AC/DC covers. Novelty covers are about the only thing I don't like about this station.
Why am I getting the image of a cone bra over a pair of overalls?
Just awful.
This is so zany! I love it!!
Oddly, I can only hear the Weird Al polka version in my mind.
Did she get to listen to the music while she was recording the vocals? They don't seem to be in synch.
Let Dr. Demento take care of the novelty songs. RP does a better job when they raise the bar.
This reminds me of the Texas squirrel girl on Spongebob.
You must be kidding...
rofl. that's it. just funny as hell.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! I feel a little guilty for giving this song a 1 since it made me laugh quite a bit... sort of reminds me of a time I heard a middle school band class marching down the street on the first week of school. We all ran to the window and listened eagerly until they were out of earshot. I would like to rate this "hilariously awful", whatever number that would be. Everyone I've told about this song wants to hear it next time it's on - I'll just pass over my headphones, don't really need to hear it again...

Heh heh heh! You nailed it. I thought this was odd and fun, and it kept my interest as I wanted to see where it went (this was my first time hearing it). C'mon folks, you can hear this ONCE without retching. And once is fine, thanks. I'll probably go get a cup of coffee if I hear it again. #-o
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Since when is RP "mainstream radio"?
One word: Yipes. I\'m sure Ms. Skye is a lovely person, but, well... daaaamn. I had a friend walk in when this song was playing. I had promoted to him the wonders of Radio Paradise, but at that moment, it was back to square one. Sigh.
The best thing I've heard since Rosey and the Originals sang "Angel Baby"!
Thanks for making me laugh right before I have to sit through a two hour meeting! Walking into the meeting with a smile on my face is definitely going to raise suspicions. =)
I like this version, it\'s not as imposing as Madana\'s.
burn this and bury it.

Amusing stunt programming by RP such as this track is a nice fly in the ol\' unguent. But, a little dab\'ll do ya......
Fun song... and seems to be a litmus test for who takes music too seriously and who can stand something kinda stupid for a few minutes; --d

I don\'t have the words to express my feelings about this song.
How did this make it to mainstream radio? This may be the worst song I\'ve ever heard.
ridiculously horrible! I am edging of my seat a little more everyday to turn the station.
I'm not sure what to think about this song. Maybe because it's a cover of a Madonna song (and I'm sure Madonna is not a popular artist on RP), that's the only frame of reference I have on it. On it's own merit I wouldn't rate it very high, but it's campy & sure gets people's attention.
