I was driving down a lonely road
One dark and stormy night.
I was fighting the wheel and it started to feel
Like something just ain't right.
When up ahead in the distance
I saw an approaching light.
Coming out of the rain was a speeding train
And so begins my plight.

As that speeding train got closer I tried to look away.
I thought if I could just close my eyes,
Then it might just go away.
I jerked real hard upon the wheel
And spinning round and round.

I was driving down a lonely road
One dark and stormy night.
A pair of hands from that freight car,
They snatched me up off the ground.

Oh Mama Please.
I wanna get off this train. Please take me home.

I came to in a box car & it was rockin' side to side.
The moon she stole the darkness
And filled the space with light.
I looked around at the faces
That were lurking in the gloom.
They smiled and spoke in whispers
Of my impending doom.
They gathered all around me
Then they kicked me to the ground.
I started to fight, but hands held me tight
And they shoved and pushed me down.
They started in to singing low then went into a dance.
As their shadows twisted on the wall I fell into a trance.

Oh Mama Please.
I wanna get off this train. Please take me home.

All at once they screamed out loud
And they shut there eyes tight.
It broke the trance, I saw my chance
And I dove into the night.
As I tumbled through the darkness
Contemplating what went wrong
I heard their tortured voices
They were singing out this song.

Oh Mama Please.
I wanna get off this train. Please take me home.

Love this song.  Want to get up and dance
It's got that Phish vibe....
The same band that brought us "Dancing in the Light", nice performance from last summer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4h8a_ahXGk
You know, at first glance this song didn't impress me much. But looking at their presence online and that they're not a mainstream band, I ended up enjoying it a bit more! It's got that local hometown sort of feeling, like that buddy you know who plays the house every Friday night. Something fun to dance around to!
Catchy energetic little ditty. Don't overthink it. Bet you'd happily be shakin yer booty if you saw em in some bar in MA..

dude, it's King Louie's song.

His voice even kinda sounds like Cesar Rosas' from Los Lobos.

I hear it.
Sing with me:
Her mind is definitely twisted. She drives a Mercedes Benz.
She's got a lot pretty boys she calls friends....

The shoe fits.
Let's wear it!

that is totally what I hear - I keep expecting him to sing "you-ooh-oooh...."

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. This totally reminds me of Ricky Martin.
I want off this train too though this morning's choochoo theme was nice this is starting to feel like blaine the mono, racing towards suicide
Time to derail this "Train"...
I can't rate this low enough.

Am I mistaken or is this a total ripoff of that Jungle Book song?
Indeed.
I thought this was cool for about the first 10 seconds. Then the vocals kicked in, and I got to hear some seriouly cliched crap. Feh.
wow, this has to be one of the most annoying songs i've experienced on rp. this site has its days, today not being one of them. i think i'll go back to my cds for the rest of the day.
Jeez, I feel like I'm in Farmingville, NY... (And that's "Mowgli", BTW. :D )
This song is a COMPLETE Ripoff of Saddle Tramps' song. Totally ridculous how badly this has been plaigiarized. https://www.thesaddletramps.com/merch.html

Actually, Los Lobos did this eons ago. Check out "Just Another Band from East L.A. compilation. I think there is a live version on it if I recall correctly. And although Squirrel Nut Zippers may or may not do this cover, I want to say Big Bad Voodoo Daddy does it. (So your swing band is covered...)
The vocal meter of the chorus is exactly the same as the aforementioned "I Wanna Be Like You".
I thought this was Los Lobos, perhaps going undercover for some reason. In particular it reminds me very much of their cover of that Jungle Book song mentioned earlier in the comments. Stealth Lobos...

I don't mind this and hardly detect any overplay. How many *weeks* has it been since this was last played? Good in the RP mix.

Bill, There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many better Entrain tunes than this. I\'d love to hear some others on RP.

Well, I know there're people who like it - but like Enrique wrote - maybe play it less ? :(

I not only remember Kid Creole, I remember his first incarnation in Dr. Buzzard's Original Savanah Band, a great band with a real hip-swinging sound that disolved far too soon. I highly recommend them.
It's Appel Farm revisted....Grey Eye Glances, Entrain. Bill, add some Jonatha Brooke and it'll be deja vu all over again. Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival - 2002

Good song but maybe getting a little too much play.
Entrain eats my ass. I\'m so sick of these guys.

It reminds me of the Jungle Book song too, but I don't hold it against them. I wouldn't give it a 10, but I think it's a fun, upbeat song to have in the mix. :D

Fine be that way...force me to go watch the Jungle Book video...or at least that part of it. I guess that'll help justify the $15.00 I spent on it a few years ago.
Reminds me of \"Hotel California\" for some reason. I\'m not seeing the Jungle Book connection either...
I also am reminded on \"I Wanna Be Like You\" from Jungle Book when I hear the verses of this song. And it\'s not just the latin flavor - the melody is very similar. This original is probably hard to find, but if you want to hear for yourself, check out the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy version on the Swingers soundtrack.
as a fan of Disney\'s jungle book toon, I can honestly say that I don\'t recall King Louis singing a song similar to this. Either way, this song kicks, but I wouldn\'t want to hear it several times a day, it\'d get old...but in moderation it\'s great :D
After monitoring all the fuss on the \"comments\" board, I now understand it. This is good little tune, even if it is a rip. The latin flavor is good on the palate.

:D :p :D In any case, King Louie and I like it! EDIT: Just bought the album (from a link on this page) because of this one song.
Dig dat latin gruve.
Oh good, I\'m glad I\'m not the only person who thought this song was nearly identical to \"Wanna Be Like You\" from Jungle Book! :D

Interesting observation Marc. I agree, especially about the vocals! I love the Zippers. Entrain is a very popular group amongst the flock here at Radio Paradise. Perhaps they just might check out the Squirrel Nut Zippers now. Peace.

Wooo-hooooo, Entrain!! Love it!!
My favorite song off this GREAT album. Can\'t get enough Entrain.
