Haha, yeah, just now when this song came on I was instantly transported back to Zwift commercials. I mean, not terrible to be transported back to the Tour, but whoa, whiplash!
If it wasn't for a clever and admittedly endearing music video, this track would never, ever have seen the light of day.  Yes, I get that seeing Walken doing the hotel dance is pretty entertaining, but take that away and what are you left with?  Not much...

Besides, check out buddy's wiki photo---->  Does that guy look like he has even one tiny funky bone in that body?  Nah...corporate drivel, I say...

Why do you have a serif font in the comments & a non serif font elsewhere?
I prefer the type style on the left.  My 2 cents. I  RP.

Serif fonts are better for reading sentences as the serifs help to guide the eye across each line. Non-serif fonts are typically used for headings, subject lines, titles, etc.

Halfway between the gutter and the stars...

Is Slim referencing Oscar Wilde?

“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”

Or maybe Slim is referencing Chrissie Hynde (referencing Oscar Wilde):

"We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"

As someone who slept in hotels two to four nights a week for almost thirty years, the Christopher Walken dance to this was amazingly liberating. I couldn't check in anyplace afterwards without riding the luggage cart or tap dancing down the escalator.

Wish I could have done the wall walking and flying.
  Make it stop!   Please!!!

I have been grooving to this for TWENTY YEARS and only just parsed the Dune reference recently. Crazy what one can miss when something is out of context.

Thanks for the reference to the Walken video - loved it
8 for this song.

I never realized the whole song is about Dune! Like Paul Atreides, his weapon of choice is his voice.
'kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down, kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down'...
Sitting listening with a huge smile - means a really fun song.

I have a hard time rating this song because the song itself is alright.  BUT the video with Christopher Walken dancing is EV-ER-Y-THING!!
"kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down, kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down, kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down, kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down..."
I love Bootsy but prefer the original mix - that I'd give a 9. And the Christopher Walken vid a 10.
Never heard this before now!  It's 6
 @ Christopher Walken.
Just because the video of Christopher Walken comes to my mind, this song deserves an 8!
Love music that's all about pure fun.

Usually with Fatboy Slim "borrowing" consists of direct samples, but in this song he actually hired Bootsy Collins (of p-funk fame) to sing. It's definitely a nod to the classic hip hop track tho.

oh yeah, i remember him in that video! not the remix, though - he was the only reason i didn't HATE this song. i bought a fatboy slim CD once, listened to it once, and threw it away. didn't even want to donate it or sell it back b/c it sucked so bad.
Although i should hate, i almost love it.

So hip it hurts!
Fatboy Slim is the master of the 4/4 beat. You can always anticipate every change in his music. And in this case, that's not bad.
This so-called song is marginal at best.

Jive Bunny of the 90's.
Someone else posted a link further down.. here is another place to see it and a few other Fatboy Slim, plus many other artist's videos.. www.sputnik7.com They don't have everything.. but they've got a few good ones..
iTunes go noSuchTune Popular background in Apple promo clips. They got it, I want it but can't get it. At least not from iTunes. Hmm?

I love his first album, nothing since. This has the beat and rhythm of a serious club number with invested street-cred, but there's just some extra cheese factor spread across the top that makes me think, "Huh. Car Commercial."
Repetitive as hell--but hey, at least it's stupid. . . .

Pure fluff - but I LIKE it, and thats what counts. Gets me moving. Do I want to hear it on a continous loop - heck no, but I am glad RP played it.
So that's why I've been attracting the worm. Huh.
I give the song an 8, but the video is a 100!
After pretty much memorizing the original, this remix sounds weeeird. Luckily, it's still dang good. Plus, it has the coolest music video ever.
RP could use some tracks from the first two albums...
Christopher Walken is hot!

I agree, this works ok in this set. I'd also like to hear some Housemartins. Good idea.

I just LOVE this song. Way to go RP!
was sitting here grooving, wondering who it was clickied on the website - of COURSE it\'s Fatboy Slim I love it when that happens!
pretty awful
the beginning of this song sounds like Jeff Beck \'Nothing is being done\' with Terry Bozzio, from \"Guitar Shop.\" How about a little more Jeff Beck? sfe
It\'s a guilty pleasure, like all of Fatboy\'s tunes. Danceable, laughable, and a bit too long. \"Retox\" is also a kinda fun track from this album.
Nice, simple groove. Easy melody. Great. Plus the image of Christopher.....Walken dancing is amusing.
People compain that Blue Man Group\'s tracks aren\'t worth airplay because they require their visual component... I would say that this song is worthless without Spike Jonze\'s video w\' Christopher Walken\'s style and the giant portrait of Norman Cook subtley resting in the lobby.
\"A Boy Named Sue\" followed by \"Weapon of Choice\". Cool. Eclectic. Intelligent. Vaguely Rocky.

My thoughts exactly!
After hearing this so many times the Dune references finally popped out at me!! :D Walk without rhythm, and you won't attract the worm... :D and reading the comments would have helped.. :p
Man...three shots of espresso and you go and play this song. While I might like it in any other state, I currently feel like my head is going to explode. Additionally, I can\'t make up mind at all...should I go with this, or with that? Help! :p :p
So it isn\'t art. So what? IT IS A FUN SONG PEOPLE. Everybody go dance around the room.
Something about this song really disturbs me. Fatboy Slim must have turned the suck knob way up.
I suddenly have the urge to go dancing through the lobby with Christopher Walkin.
I remember this cause I remember the video :D It\'s cool though.
It\'s nice to hear songs with obscure Dune references.
STOP! what is this doing on radioparadise??

I agree; I'm a big ambient/techno fan, but this is just lightweight stuff. Nevertheless, diversity is good. (I have to say that 'cause I live in Berkeley.)

average at best...
Hee hee hee! First time I\'ve heard Fatboy on RP, and I was delighted and surprised. \'Course it\'s not for everyone, but the variety and diversity is what makes RP great... remember, all stuff you like, all the time, it would be bland regular corporate radio!!! ;)

I love the diversity on RP and this song being played is just one example of many.
