For millions of years, In millions of homes
A man loved a woman, A child it was born
It learned how to hurt and it learned how to cry
Like Humans Do

I'm breathin in
I'm breathin out
So slip inside this funky house
Dishes in the sink
The TV's in repair
Don't look at the floor
Don't go up the stairs

I'm achin
I'm shakin
I'm breakin
Like Humans Do
(2x)

I work & I sleep & I dance & I'm dead
I'm eatin, I'm laughin & I'm lovin myself
We're eatin' off plates and we kiss with our tongues
Like Humans Do

I'm breathin in
I'm breathin out
So slip inside this funky house
Dishes in the sink
The TV's in repair
Don't look at the floor
Don't go up the stairs

I'm achin
I'm shakin
I'm breakin
Like Humans Do
(2x)

I'm breathin in
I'm breathin out
So slip inside this funky house
Dishes in the sink
The TV's in repair
Don't look at the floor
Don't go up the stairs

I'm achin
I'm shakin
I'm breakin
Like Humans Do
(2x)

I'm breathin in
I'm breathin out
So slip Inside this funky house
Wiggle while you work
Anybody can
The rain is pourin in on a woman & a man

I'm achin
I'm shakin
I'm breakin
Like Humans Do
I'm breathin in
I'm breathin out Oooh

This also came with two computers I bought at that time. Could have sworn it was the 90s? 2001 seems too late.
6% of the ratings are "sucko barfo"?

This song needs more love.
Disappointing. Seriously disappointing And then there is yesterday’s duet w Miley of ‘Let’s Dance’. Yikes. Abysmal.

True - just not on this track
Master Byrne
I've recently been spending way too much time watching David Byrne videos on YouTube. I'm amazed at how strong his voice is well into his 60s. He sounds just as good if not better than he did during the Talking Heads.  He's still got the quirky dance moves, too.
David Byrne is a dick going to hit the next button

I'm in the same boat. But I'll add that his solo stuff is slowly making me appreciate the TH stuff more.
Like this song but hear way too much from this guy on RP....

Indeed, "The radio edit version of the song (which omits the line referring to cannabis) was selected by Microsoft as the sample music for Windows XP to demonstrate the new Windows Media Player. It was also included as a sample track on the Rio Karma media player." (Wikipedia)
Byrne is like Bowie's more cerebral brother.
I could do without the orchestration.
Human stew?!
We love this guy, and not just because he shares something special with my girl... but Byrne is a true musical genius (esp w/lyrics).  Like Bill G @ RP!

Love the percussion!
Curious that there's a full four-year gap evident here during which not a single listener commented on this song. Some people can be so ungrateful!
WwoOoOoaAaAAHhhhh.... gag!
tonight this set and this song are perfect. the comments hating on it are hilarious. Byrne is an annoying artist. an artist, nonetheless.

Even if zero the price is too high.  Byrne doing reworked disco? Did Rick Dees produce this?

Mute.  I guess in Paradise this sounds good.  Not on humble planet Earth, though.  This tone-deaf guy even looks creepy.

Not good...

I like this song, but I could see how someone might think "Sufficient cowbell" is not a compliment.  I think the cowbell adds to the song, gives a nice bouncy feel, but is not there the whole song.  So, Sufficient cowbell.

I like TH, but this sucks. 3

This evokes a certain place and time for me. It's a wonder I don't hate it.
What's that idiotic bell or whatever it is in the background all about? Mr. Byrne, WTF?

(Edit: Hehe, just realised my location tag makes it look like I'm in prison or something... I'm not though, not that anyone would care...)
Great piece of drumming here.
What a wanker{#Frustrated}
Cool tune. Had a girlfriend Sandy, who just loved Talking Heads and when they were playing, so were we. So I ended up loving the Talking Heads as well.
Dislike the loopy lilt in his voice. It never changes.
Love this stuff.  LOVE IT.
My Gawd this is frickin' awful....

Sounds like Zappa kinda. It's ok.

I worked at an electronics store for a while and one night the guys in the computers department decided to set all the pc's to play this song at the same time. The customers seemed rather bewildered to walk into a department with 15+ computers playing the same song.
I think it's "I never watch TV except when I'm stoned" -- does that help?

Love the Heads and the man on his own from the begnning :) Still eclectic, still goos after all these 30 years!
There's...something...about...Mary.
I think his voice is great. It has character and personality kind of like Adrian Belew, and unlike so many of the current whiney boy clone "singers" out there who are pretty much tone deaf and cant carry a tune.
The guy is a genius, but still makes a mistake every now and then, like humans do.
How is it that someone can say this voice sucks but then think someone like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, and a ton of other "greats" have good voices?!
THIS GUYS' VOICE SUCKS! can't he find a lead singer? Oh never mind, the ego is too frickin uncontrollable. He apparently doens't know he has a shitty voice. not a bad song though . .

Well, if he is 25% of the talking heads...that would put the rating at about a 2.5 - but it IS music, afterall, and isn\'t something you would hear on American Idol - so we\'ll double it and give it a 5. Maybe I should stop making sense! Utterly so-so....

Hyperbole! Mr. Byrne is a competent songwriter who is smart and savy. His singing is not good and this song showcases this deficit for anyone with ears.

Same here. Damn you microsoft for ruining a good song for me. I have heard the first 60 seconds of this song and Beck's "Beautiful Way" waaaayyy to many times!
Bill loves Byrnin' down the house.
For such a good title this song is really annoying. I was expecting 'do it like they do on the discovery channel' from the title.

Saw him perform his "classical" piece, The Forest, with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra some years ago. Very talented, but strange.

yes, another curse of the Bill Gates nexus...could be worse though, at least they didn't use Pet Shop Boys or something like that...
I was having dinner the first night of SXSW in Austin and who walks into the resturant but DAVID BYRNE! He sits at the booth next to us (I was too starstruck to stare) with a group of people including Gilberto Gil....it was quite exciting. Little guy, he is. But oh so talented....
i'm rating songs on radio paradise instead of editing my story that is due tomorrow, like humans do.

if you look beyond the fact it was bundled with Windblows, it's rather okay. But then again, you can never look away from the fact that it was bundled with macrohard's windblows.
David Byrne, what a jerk! He's pretty darn good tho.
