I don't really believe there is such a thing as bad music.  Music, in and of itself, is good, as long as it isn't full of mistakes you need to correct in your head.  And even then it can be great.  Sixth grade band?  This song is played well, and it's more pretty and bland than hard on the ears.  The sound is also nostalgic for someone my age who never heard it before.  Why come down on it so hard?  I have a feeling that's about listeners wanting to figure out who they are through their tastes.  But taste is taste.  It doesn't actually define anyone.
