The low spark of Rickie struggling through this song. Thankfull for us (and her) she does better elsewhere.
... Thanks RP for this and all RLJ! ... Really Love her! ...">
The only thing wrong with this cut is her voice.
Rickie is the Goddess. Amen.
Please tell this person to stop singing before she hurts someone!
Ouch! My first 1. I can imagine giving as much as a 5 if I had never heard the original, but this made me laugh from pain.
Man, you guys, what a bunch of morons. I've just been listening to a live version of this from RLJ's website and it is truly great. Ricky is a one of the "real heavies," says Walter Becker, so if you won't take my word for how out of order you people are to diss one of the all-time greats, take his. You'd all do well to remember that Ricky Lee has never made a bad recording in her life. love n kisses, Thoss (from the hills)
An outstanding job of taking a bad song and making it worse.
ok. i must admit that this one has definitely grown on me (at least a little bit) with repeated play. that doesnt say much though. i also find myself humming along to top40 corporate radio swill after hearing enough times.
Please Bill, I JUST had lunch, and would perfer to keep it...

Johnray63... nope, that doesn't help either :p This is horrible. Granted, this is one of the greatest rock songs of all time so the standard are (and should be) very high. Somebody should have prevented her this embarassment and told her to stop. Stevie Winwood sang this song with SOOO much heart... There is ZERO heart in this version. I can't sing, but if I did, I can tell you that every ounce of emotion in my body would need to be pouring out to do this one. I don't think she even broke a sweat.
Well, it\'s always interesting to hear another version of a song, but I really like the original much better on this one, not much of an own interpretation either, she just sings it the way Steve W would but in her own voice, music sounds similar too.
I wish she would have picked another song to butcher. I like her and think she is a fine artist but she must have been stoned out of her mind to cover this song. Sorry Rickie, but you screwed the pooch on this one :D
obviously a \"love it\" or \"hate it\" song. file me under love.

100% agree. This song hurts.
Ricki Lee: What I am is what I am. Ricki Lee on Sudafed: by a bun dat \'idnt bate ady doize
Quess it seemed to be an obvious choice for her to do this song, but I can\'t say it obviously worked out fine. Maybe I should be listening to it late at night, after a couple of drinks or joints. Can imagine liking it then.
Love the music, but Rickie\'s voice has just always been too high and squeeky for me, a bit like finger nails down a chalk board.
there aren\'t many songs that will make me reach for the mute key, but this is one of them
Icky Pee Drones - creative juices runnin\' a little dry?
RLJ puts her own style into this cover and it works. I much prefer when a performer takes a song and really makes it her own, rather than trying to copy the original. Beautiful.
Oh man! This should just never have made it out of the studio. Phew.
While I generally enjoy the music of Rickie Lee Jones, I am not really a fan of this song...no matter who covers it. It was only marginally notable when it was originally recorded by...um...er, was it Traffic?
